CELTIC’S first Glasgow derby of the season against Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side has been confirmed for Saturday October 17 at Parkhead.

The encounter will have a 12.30pm kick-off and will be televised live by Sky Sports.

The satellite broadcasters will also screen live the Hoops’ game against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Friday October 2 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Neil Lennon’s side faced the Govan outfit three times last term and won two and lost one. Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes gave them a 2-0 victory away from home at the start of September and they followed that up with a Betfred League Cup Final triumph at Hampden on December 8 when central defender Christopher Jullien scored the only goal of the game.

However, the champions were rocked when the visitors claimed their first win at the east end of Glasgow venue just before the turn of the year. Edouard scored again, but Ryan Christie had a penalty kick saved in a 2-1 loss.

The teams were due to meet in Govan for a fourth time on March 15 before football was forced into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
