CELTIC have made an approach to Norwich City in their bid to sign striker Adam Idah, Sky Sports have confirmed.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland scored nine goals – including the Scottish Cup winner – during his loan spell at the champions after arriving late in the January window.
It is now down to the Hoops hierarchy and their Carrow Road counterparts to attempt to thrash out a deal.
The powerhouse frontman arrived at Parkhead without an option to buy in the temporary contract, as CQN flagged up early in February.
HAMPDEN HERO…Adam Idah grips the Scottish Cup after his last-gasp winner on May 25.
Now the club bosses will have to negotiate a fee if Idah is to join his boyhood idols on a permanent basis.
Reflecting on the forward’s contribution in his 19 appearances to the league and Cup double-winning campaign, Brendan Rodgers said: “He’s been the real catalyst for us.
“I knew what I was getting, he’s fast and dynamic and has strength.
“What he’s shown since coming in is he is a goalscorer. Great headers, great movement in the box.
“He’s been absolutely immense for us and he’s clearly someone I would like to do something with.”
The Hoops gaffer may get his wish – if the price is right.

Transfer fees between £3million and £9million have been mentioned for Idah, so there could be some tough talking done between the Parkhead man and the Championship club who have the player under contract until July 2028.
Asked last week if moves were in place for Idah and fellow-loanee Paulo Bernardo, the Benfica playmaker, Rodgers’ No.2 John Kennedy admitted: “There are a lot of conversations taking place as we come back for pre-season and, hopefully, in the coming weeks some things will start to happen.
“There are a lot of plates spinning and a lot of work to be done.”
The 2024 summer transfer window is scheduled to close at 11.30pm on August 30.
