CELTIC will begin their Premier Sports League Cup bid against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday August 15 with a 5.45pm kick-off.
The date was confirmed today with the trophy sponsors announcing they would cover all eight ties in the last 16 of the tournament.
The Hoops, of course, blew the opportunity of winning the silverware for the second successive season when they collapsed in the showpiece occasion at Hampden in December when they failed to turn up and lost 3-1 to St Mirren.
It was Wilfried Nancy’s third game in charge – and his third consecutive defeat. After three more reverses in his eight matches, the Frenchman was sacked with his reign coming to an abrupt end following 33 chaotic days.

Martin O’Neill, who had led the team to a semi-final triumph over Danny Rohl’s Ibrox side the previous month, will be hoping to go one better this time around.
The satellite broadcasters will show the Ayrshire derby between Kilmarnock and Ayr United on Friday August 14 at 7.45pm to get the live screenings underway.
Then come the ties between Aberdeen v Dundee and Dunfermline v Ross County on Saturday with 3pm starts before Celtic are in action on Tayside.
On Sunday, there is a 2pm triple bill with Hibs v Partick Thistle, Hearts v Inverness Caley Thistle and Stenhousemuir v Motherwell.
The last-16 round is complete when holders St Mirren visit Ibrox for a 4pm commencement.
