CONFIRMED: CELTIC v HIBS SUNDAY CUP DATE

CELTIC will face Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Parkhead on Sunday March 9 with a 3pm kick-off.

The tie between the holders, who knocked the Edinburgh side out of the League Cup in August at the same venue, and David Gray’s outfit will be beamed live by Premier Sports.

Coincidentally, the champions play at Easter Road with a 12.30pm start on Saturday with the match also being shown live by the same satellite channel.

The Hoops’ last-eight confrontation will follow two of the other ties which will also be broadcast as they happen.

The trail to Hampden gets underway on Friday, March 7 when Hearts play Dundee at Tynecastle with a 7.45pm commencement and that game will also be shown on Premier Sports.

The following afternoon, Aberdeen take on Ibrox conquerors Queen’s Park at Pittodrie at 12.30pm with BBC Scotland covering the action.

Celtic, looking for their third Scottish Cup victory following successive victories over Inverness Caley Thistle (3-1) and Rangers (1-0), take centre stage alongside Hibs on Sunday and the last-eight is completed when Livingston host St Johnstone in West Lothian.

The match will be covered by BBC Scotland and is scheduled for a 7.45pm kick-off.

The semi-finals are due on the weekend of April 19 and 20, with the showpiece showdown scheduled for Saturday, May 24.
