CELTIC will play St Mirren in their Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on Sunday, April 19.

The last-four encounter is scheduled for a 2pm kick-off.

The showpiece showdown is due at the national stadium on Saturday May 23 and would be the perfect grand finale for Martin O’Neill as he ends his second period as the club’s interim manager.

The Hoops, of course, were taken to a tension-laden penalty-kick shoot-out against Danny Rohl’s side at Ibrox last weekend before sealing their place against the Paisley club who defeated the Parkhead men 3-1 in the Premier Sports League Cup Final in mid-December.

Wilfried Nancy was in charge at that stage and the Cup defeat was his third consecutive reverse since taking over. The Frenchman was fired after three more defeats in five games to open the way for the second comeback for the popular Irishman.

Falkirk and Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline will meet in the other semi the previous day at the same venue with a 12.30pm start.

Both matches will be broadcast live on Premier Sports.
