RYAN CHRISTIE will start this afternoon’s Euro Finals Group D opener against the Czech Republic at Hampden.

Surprisingly, though, boss Steve Clarke has left his Celtic team-mate Callum McGregor on the substitutes’ bench.

Three Hoops stars join the anchorman, who celebrates his 28th birthday today, on stand-by duty – James Forrest, David Turnbull and Greg Taylor.

Kieran Tierney is nowhere to be seen in the squad, presumed to be injured.

David Marshall has won the duel of the former Parkhead keepers to get the nod over Craig Gordon to face the Czechs. Jack Hendry is joined in the back three by Grant Hanley and Liam Cooper.

Bustling Lyndon Dykes starts up top on his own with Che Adams on the bench.

TEAM: Marshall; O’Donnell, Hanley, Cooper, Hendry, Robertson; McGinn, McTominay, Armstrong, Christie; Dykes. Subs: Gordon, McLaughlin, McGregor, Adams, Taylor, Turnbull, Nisbet, Fraser, Patterson, Gilmour, Forrest and McKenna.
