CONFIRMED: EDOUARD AND KYOGO TEAM UP

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has teamed up Odsonne Edouard and Kyogo Furuhashi to lead the attack in today’s League Cup opener against Hearts at Parkhead.

Ryan Christie has been rested while new Bhoy James McCarthy is named for a place on the substitutes’ bench and could get the call to make his Celtic debut against the Tynecastle outfit.

It is the first time Edouard and Kyogo will have played together with the Japaense frontman starting the previous three games with the Frenchman on stand-by duty.

A week ago the £4.6million recruit from the J-League notched a hat-trick on his first appearance in the east end of Glasgow as Postecoglou’s men routed Dundee 6-0.

Edouard scored his opening goal of the campaign after coming off the bench and striking a late penalty-kick.

The Hoops aim to be in the draw for the quarter-finals of the competition, which takes place following today’s game.

TEAM: Hart; Ralston, Welsh, Starfelt, Taylor; Rogic, Turnbull, McGregor; Forrest, Furuhashi, Edouard. Subs:Bain, Bitton, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, McCarthy, Shaw, Montgomery and Urhoghide.
