CONFIRMED: FORREST BACK, EDOUARD OUT

NEIL LENNON brought back winger James Forrest for Celtic’s Premiership encounter against Ross County at Parkhead this afternoon.

The Scotland international took his place in the attack while Odsonne Edouard was allowed a break and took his place on the substitutes’ bench.

Leigh Griffiths, after two goals in two comeback games against Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock, again led the line against the Highlanders who were hit for six in their previous visit to the east end of Glasgow in October.

Jeremie Frimpong and Kristoffer Ajer both dropped out through injuries sustained at Rugby Park with Moritz Bauer taking over at right-back while Mikey Johnston, a late sub for Griffiths in midweek, started the team’s first home game of 2020.

Defender Stephen Welsh, who was recalled from his loan spell with Morton earlier in the week, was named among the stand-by players, as was Karamoko Dembele, who scored one of the goals in Celtic reserves’ 4-1 City of Glasgow Cup win over Clyde on Tuesday night.

TEAM: Forster; Bauer, Jullien, Simunovic, Hayes; Brown, Ntcham, McGregor; Forrest, Griffiths, Johnston. Subs: Gordon, Taylor, Klimala, Rogic, Edouard, Welsh and Dembele.
