CONFIRMED: FRIMPONG, BITTON RETURN

2

JEREMIE FRIMPONG and Nir Bitton return for Celtic’s redundant Europa League Group H game against AC Milan in the San Siro tonight.

The Dutch teenager was banned from Sunday’s 2-0 loss against Ross County after being red-carded in the 1-0 success over Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side in last eason’s Final.

Bitton replaces Christopher Jullien in central defence while Mohamed Elyounoussi also drops to the substitutes’ bench.

Neil Lennon once again gives the nod to £4.5million Greek goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas who looked less than convincing against the Dingwall side after taking over from Scott Bain following his shaky display in the 4-1 flop against Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic capital a week ago.

The Hoops are merely going through the motions after picking up only one point from a possible 12 in the section in which they were top seeds.

They have already lost 3-1 to the Serie A cracks in Glasgow, been thrashed twice by Sparta and drawn with Lille. They bring down the curtain on a shambolic campaign against the French side at Parkhead next week.

TEAM: Barkas; Elhamed, Bitton, Ajer; Frimpong, Brown, McGregor; Rogic, Laxalt; Christie; Edouard. Subs: Bain, Hazard, Jullien, Taylor, Ajeti, Klimala, Soro, Ntcham, Henderson, Welsh.
