GREEK striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has been given the nod to make his first start for Celtic against St Johnstone at Parkhead this afternoon.

The powerful frontman, who is still awaiting his first goal following three substitute appearances, has been given the green light by Ange Postecoglou to play up front alongside nine-goal Kyogo Furuhashi against the Perth side.

Giakoumakis, who joined the Hoops from Dutch club VVV-Vengo in a £2.5million switch in the summer, is one of two changes from the team that beat Ferencvaros 2-0 in the Europa League Group G encounter in Glasgow on Tuesday afternoon.

Injury-free Josip Juranovic also comes into the back line with Adam Montgomery and Liel Abada dropping to the substitutes’ bench.

The Croatia international full-back has been missing since limping off in the first-half of the 1-1 draw with Dundee United last month.

TEAM: Hart; Ralston, Starfelt, Carter-Vickers, Juranovic; Turnbull, McGregor, Rogic; Jota, Kyogo, Giakoumakis. Subs: Bain, Bitton, Ajeti, Abada, Johnston, Montgomery and Welsh.
