CONFIRMED: GRIFF STARTS

LEIGH GRIFFITHS makes his first competitive start of the year in the Champions League first leg second round qualifier against Estonia’s Nomme Kalju at Parkhead this evening.

The comeback striker will line up alongside Odsonne Edouard in a two-pronged attack as boss Neil Lennon looks for the goals that, hopefully, will make Tuesday’s return leg a formality.

Griffiths, 28, made his first return to Celtic Park in the goalless draw in the friendly against French Cup winners Rennes 11 days ago. He also had a 13-minute cameo appearance last week in the 2-1 triumph over FK Sarajevo when he came on for Edouard.

Scott Bain is in goal with Kristoffer Ajer, Jozo Simunovic, Nir Bitton and Boli Boligoli forming the backline with skipper Scott Brown taking his place just behind James Forrest, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor in the middle of the park.

Craig Gordon, Christopher Jullien, Scott Sinclair, Lewis Morgan, Mikey Johnston and Olivier Ntcham all get places on the substitutes’ bench.

TEAM: Bain; Ajer, Simunovic, Bitton, Bolingoli; Forrest, Brown, Christie, McGregor; Griffiths, Edouard. Subs: Gordon, Jullien, Sinclair, Hayes, Morgan, Johnston, Ntcham.
