BRENDAN RODGERS has handed the central striking role to Daizen Maeda as Celtic prepare for the £40million shoot-out with Kairat Almaty in the second leg of the Champions League play-off in Kazakhstan this evening.
The Japanese speedster has been brought in from the wing to lead the front line with James Forrest and Yang Hyun-jun on the flanks.
The Hoops fired blanks in last week’s frustrating scoreless stalemate and urgently require a cutting edge this time out.
Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate, who were rested in the 3-0 win over Livingston at the weekend, all return.
