CONFIRMED: MAEDA LEADS HOOPS

1

DAIZEN MAEDA has received the nod from Ange Postecoglou to lead the Celtic attack in the Europa Conference League play-off encounter against Bodo/Glimt at Parkhead this evening.

It was a straight choice between the Hogmanay arrival from the J-League or Greek frontman Giorgos Giakoumakis and the Japanese striker has got the vote of confidence from his manager on this occasion.

Postecoglou has made a number of changes from the side which beat Raith Rovers 4-0 in the Scottish Cup in the east end of Glasgow on Sunday.

Only keeper Joe Hart, centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and midfield playmaker Tom Rogic retain their place in the starting line-up while skipper Callum McGregor, who sat out the match against the Fifers, returning to take his usual anchorman role.

The Hoops are aiming to pile up the goals to make the trip to Norway for the second leg a week tonight as comfortable as possible.

TEAM: Hart, Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; O’Riley, McGregor, Rogic; Abada, Maeda, Jota. Subs: Bain, Oluwayemi, Jullien, Scales, Bitton, Giakoumakis, McCarthy, Hatate, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh and Dembele.
