SHAUN MALONEY and Mark Fotheringham have been confirmed as Martin O’Neill’s backtoom team for the new season.
Stephen McManus, too, will be in place when the new campaign gets underway in August.
The timing is apt with the Hoops scheduled to start pre-season training at Lennoxtown today.
The news was revealed in a club statement earlier this morning.
It read: “As the Double-winning Scottish Champions look ahead to the new campaign, we are pleased to confirm members of the club’s backroom team, with Shaun Maloney, Mark Fotheringham and former Hoops captain, Stephen McManus continuing to work with Celtic manager Martin O’Neill and the other staff within our coaching set up.

“All have well established connections with the club and together with the other members of our backroom team, each played their part in delivering a historic League and cup double in the 2025/26 season as the two trophies were delivered in a memorable last two weekends of the campaign.
“We look forward to all members of the backroom team working again to deliver success for our fans.”
Boss O’Neill added: “Everybody at the club played their part in our achievements last season and we now look ahead as again we strive together to bring our supporters more success.”
After a month of renegotiating terms, the outcome will be a satisfying one for the 74-year-old Irishman as well as the club’s supporters.
In a turbulent crusade, the champions kicked off with Brendan Rodgers in charge, O’Neill took temporary control in late October and then Wilfried Nancy was introduced in early December before his disastrous 33-day reign.

The Frenchman was sacked on January 5 after six losses in eight games and the charismatic Irishman came back again to guide the team untiil the end of the season.
With the assistance of Maloney, Fotheringham and McManus, the veteran gaffer led the team to a fifth successive crown and completed the crusade with a Scottish Cup Final triumph.
Now the winning team are back in place as Scotland’s title kings get ready to do it all again.
