CONFIRMED: SORO IN, BROWN OUT

1

NEIL LENNON has left out skipper Scott Brown for the crucial Premiership encounter at Ibrox this afternoon.

The Celtic boss has given the nod to impressive Ivorian anchorman Ismaila Soro who has made such an impact since being introduced to the first team against Lille last month.

Brown will take his place on the substitutes’ bench for a game the champions must win to remain in the pursuit of their historic tenth successive title.

French centre-back Christopher Jullien has been ruled out with an ankle injury after his collision with a post in the 3-0 win over Dundee United in midweek. Versatile Israeli international Nir Bitton takes his place alongside Kristoffer Ajer in the heart of the rearguard.

David Turnbull also makes his first start in this fixture while Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths will lead the attack.

The Hoops go into the match trailing Steven Gerrard’s side by 16 points although they have three games in hand.

TEAM: Barkas; Frimpong, Ajer, Bitton, Laxalt; Christie, Soro, Turnbull, McGregor; Edouard, Griffiths. Subs: Hazard, Taylor, Duffy, Brown, Ajeti, Rogic, Ntcham, Elyounoussi and Elhamed.
