CONFIRMED: TEEN ACE HARPER DEBUT

1

TEENAGE American attack ace Cameron Harper makes his debut for crisis-hit Celtic against Hibs at Parkhead tonight.

The 19-year-old gets a place in attack alongside Mikey Johnston after the champions had to leave out THIRTEEN players in a Covid-related issue after Christopher Jullien’s positive test for the virus during the trip to Dubai last week.

With Kristoffer Ajer out and Nir Bitton suspended, Shane Duffy comes into central defence along with Stephen Welsh.

Neil Lennon will be missing from the dug-out alongside assistant John Kennedy while first-team coach Gavin Strachan will take charge. The son of former gaffer Gordon will be backed by reserve team boss Tommy McIntyre and reserve coach Stephen McManus.

Callum McGregor will captain the side, while David Turnbull, the Premiership Player of the Month for December, starts in midfiel and will be looking to add to the four goals he has already scored since making an impact at the Hoops.

TEAM: Hazard; Frimpong, Welsh, Duffy, Laxalt; Turnbull, Soro, Rogic, McGregor;  Harper, Johnston. Subs: Doohan, Taylor, Connell, Coffey, Okoflex, Henderson, Ralston, Hjelde, Deembele.
