YANG HYUN-JUN is OUT of the Celtic squad for the Premiersip encounter against Kilmarnock at Parkhead tomorrow afternoon.
The South Korean international winger replaced the disappointing Nicolas Kuhn at half-time in last weekend’s dismal 1-0 loss to St Johnstone in Perth.
Unfortunately, Yang fell awkwardly after being challenged by a defender at McDiarmid Park and played through the pain barrier until the end of the game after Brendan Rodgers had utilised his four other substitutes in a vain effort to revive his ailing team.
ROARING SUCCESS…Yang Hyun-jun celebrates one of his double in the 5-2 win over St Mirren in Paisley last month, but the winger is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The wide Bhoy, who could have been in line for a starting spot against the Rugby Park visitors with Kuhn out of sorts against the Saints, will be sidelined for at least two matches and will miss the Scottish Cup semi-final against the Perth club a week on Sunday.
Asked for an injury update, Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, confirmed: “Yang will be out. He’ll have his arm in a sling for a few weeks.
“Obviously, he’s had a nasty fall and a slight sprain of his elbow, but everyone else should be okay.
“Hopefully, Yang will be back before the end of the campaign.”
