CONFIRMED: YUKI’S ON HIS WAY

NEW Bhoy Yuki Kobayashi will be unveiled by Celtic today as their latest signing, as CQN  forecast 13 days ago.

Although the former Vissel Kobe left-sided centre-half will not have his move rubber-stamped until the transfer window reopens on January 1 2023, we stated he would be arriving early to meet his Hoops colleagues and put in the hours at Lennoxtown as he prepares for life at the champions.

The defender, 22, has signed a five year deal and will join up with his former club team-mate Kyogo Furuhashi and countrymen Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi at the club’s training HQ this morning.

NO HOLDS BARRED…Yuki Kobayashi emphasises his determination as he slides into a tackle.

Daizen Maeda, the fifth of Ange Postecoglou’s raid on the J-League, is, of course, still performing for Japan in the World Cup Finals and played his part in the nation’s dramatic 2-1 win over Spain last night and will now go head to head with Josip Juranovic and Croatia in their last-16 encounter on Monday afternoon.

A post on Twitter by Vissel Kobe news site Kobe NP showed Kobayashi at the airport getting ready to board his flight.

The elegant back-four performer will further strengthen Postecoglou’s options in his central rearguards where he has had injuries to Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh in this campaign.

German ace Moritz Jez arrived on a season-long loan in the summer.

The Hoops go back into competitive action when the Premiership restarts with a trip to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen a fortnight tomorrow.

The first game after the turn of the year is the Glasgow derby at Ibrox on January 2.
