Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

The VC did not win: they were desrtoyed as a fighting force during the Tet offensive – communism was imposed on South Vietnam by the North Vietnamese Army in the invasion of 1975. Had Nixon not lost office, that invasion would have been defeated like that of 1972.

And the UK, France and the USA helped Hitler and Mussolini by refusing to provide assistance to the democratically elected government of Spain.

  6. Treat Ross County lightly and we may suffer, unbeaten up there for a long time. They will be fit and well organised,to probably play for a draw.Yes pick a team with an eye on Tuesday for sure, but we need to be prepared to dig in for the 3 points.

And I can’t help but wonder, no Willie McBride,

Do all those who lie here know why they died?

Did you really believe them when they told you “The Cause?”

Did you really believe that this war would end wars?

Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame

The killing, the dying, it was all done in vain,

For Willie McBride, it all happened again,

And again, and again, and again, and again.

Would suggest you have your blinkers on ……. Ensuring a Club like Celtic survives in a Country which would rather we weren’t here is a complex challenge for our Board …… And they are doing a wonderful job….

Remember the Ajax game – I was there. Played at that Hampden dump 1971. Stand at CP was being ‘refurbished’! No expense was spared by the old board in those days!

Won 1-0 – wee Jinky scored. They p*****d us 3-0 over there!

Of course they went on to win the first of their 3 consecutive ECs at Wembley 2 months later against Panathinaikos who were then managed by none other than the great Ferenc Puskas!

Clubs from Holland in those days were ‘diddy teams’! What about Feyenoord the year before?!

You can see why no rush to conduct the improper registration issue as it would require the points won last season by ebt players to be removed.

I recall this benig brought up before. Whyte stopped the ebts in the summer before last season, remember the 6 year contract extension and doubling of wages for the likes of whittaker, naismith. So the suspicion is no rangers players were getting ebts last season. Our hero was far more blatant in his tax scams than to need an ebt scheme!!!

The delay in investigating was/is inexcusable though and sanctions could have been brought in RFC(IA) before the end of the season that would have resolved the whole prize money issue. To be clear the SPL investigation is into improper registration of player (i.e. they had more than one contract/all payments were not declared to governing bodies). To delay it on account of the FTT which was deciding if tax was due on EBT payments is a seperate issue and is doubtful to have impeded on an SPL investigation.

  20. I would be interested to hear how Celtic were paid the money owed to them by The Rangers or Oldco (I’m confused!!)

I would be interested to hear how other clubs were paid. We know that Hearts received some money from the SPL (or was it the SFA? Confused again) from prize money.

Auldheid is spot on (again) when he points out that once more ‘they’ (in old form or new) have used other people’s dough to pay their bills.

The whole thing reeks. Clubs in Europe who are still owed money by Old Rangers will be the ones to open the can of worms.

I should not be surprised at the extent to which the protection racket has spread.

In fact I’m going to come right out and say it: are Regan and Doncaster Masons? Do they have any obligation to declare membership of secret societies? I try not to let myself get in to conspiracies but the situation in Scotland is incredible and every avenue of explanation needs to be explored.

    Quick question ….

I haven’t been back home/to a game in a few years …. my brother and I are planning a trip at the end of November to take my dad’s ashes home, and catch a game together (the ICT game on the 24th)….. What’s the best way to get tickets? Get them in advance, or can we just get them at the gate on the day of the game?
