Any management team has only so much bandwidth. You see the effect of this in organisations when the pressure is applied. Urgent matters, the ones that come screaming into your inbox, or literally banging on your door, tend to take your focus.
Strategically important issues seldom do this. They can sit in the outfield for a long time, so much so, they blend into the background and you stop noticing them. Then something big happens and bang, you have an urgent matter which you could have dealt with months earlier.
Yesterday’s Scottish news saw an example of this. At an inquiry into deaths at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, a manager admitted he “dropped the ball” in not reacting to a report issued years earlier. An unusual admission of laxity.
Football clubs also a million things metaphorically banging on their door; there is always a crisis and always things which are not really today’s priorities that look like priorities. That’s why the little things, like submitting a planning request to Glasow City Council to make stadium changes to accommodate away fans can slip through the net.
The signs are that Newco management’s bandwidth is more constricted than most. They are making very visible mistakes. Unlike the hospital manager, their appetite for taking responsibility isn’t great. Results will soon out them.

Well played. lol’d at that.
i had a few others, but couldnt be bothered typing them,
No, PAUL67, they just don’t have the money to facilitate the works required, or maybe you forgot that! :)) por cierto
Good points well made.
The puff piece in the Scottish sun (don’t read it) was a disgrace. Has been edited to show that the application for nets was only made this week, though still leans against Celtics decision to end the ticket reciprocation arrangements.
A bit like ‘finally settling’ a court case when you are taken to court and passing off as a success.
They remain charlatans and miscreants
The transfer window closes at 11pm one week from today.
I trust that the sweat is absolutely lashing off our recruitment team as they strive to ensure we are not waking up on the 31st to huge disappointment and raw anger. Time will tell.

Hang on to your hat in the wind, things could get worser.
It’s a pretty standard mild human reaction that when our club stockpiles millions and millions of pounds and the only certainty in sight, is more to come, with a new money rich CL, and still the possibility of selling your best players. This is coupled with another certainty that BR ( and the recruitment team? ) have pruned around 15 players, since he signed his current millionaire contract. The ordinary supporter or ‘fanatic’ will raise his expectations for the quality of the team, he likes to go and see sometimes.
The Brendan voyage took a dramatic course as soon as his feet were under the desk, as he waded and sifted through the ‘recruitment team’ and the playing squad, taking full charge. Celtic have never had these financial resources and even ‘the experts’ don’t know why, the money is in the bank, apparently uninvestable, or so difficult to spend. The truth is what you make of it, – whatever floats your vote.
This transfer window is unique regardless of your label be it mineshafter, happy clapper, the odious – bed wetter, board plant, placeman, troll, all the way down to current bun . CQN single thread open comments box, have all the opinions, a bit like the train station in The Great Escape “ They’re all in here “

MAZZY re: The transfer window closing
It doesn’t close. It slams shut on our Champ League ambitions.

Celtic have never had these financial resources and even ‘the experts’ don’t know why,
but we do know why, it tells us in the accounts.
It closes at 23:30 in scotland, that extra 30 minutes will be crucial for registering our new loan signings from city.

Apart from nets, inside the ground, did the application also include the more costly safety measures, erecting barricades and fencing etc, to safeguard our fans in the way in and out? por cierto

They really are from another planet. 😳🤷🏼♂️ 👽 What is he basing any of that on?
Past moonbeams it seems. David Murray has them so well conditioned, that even now when they are clearly skint and a complete mess of a club, they think a sugar daddy is going to save them. Not even realising that the Financial Sustainability Regulations won’t allow over spending.
Cutting their cloth accordingly is totally alien to this lot.
I had to live through those DM years and their constant bragging and rubbing it on our faces.
They deserve all they get. Feck them!
😂😂😂😃⚽️🍀🇮🇪🏆🏆🏆🇮🇪🍀
In our faces not on 😳💩🤢🤮
Melvin Udall
Yes indeed that Murray era has ruined both figuratively and actually, they think they are an attractive prospect for some rich Arab or American? If and it’s an a XXXXL size Sevco top IF some American does take them on, it won’t be as an benefactor but as someone who finally completely guts the husk of Sevco
Paul67
Re Sevco Management, I’m going for the more obvious option of clueless f4nnies. as a more likely explanation for their current dilemmas.
Only ever seen one organisation where the entire management were educationally challenged, immaculate suits , shiniest shoes. , bling personal and corporate , never made a penny profit. If you were easily taken in you’d thought these guys were movers and shakers with good looking burds … Sevco blueprint.

With apologies to anyone who doesn’t want to read about transfers, Brendan confirmed that the Kyogo link to City is the work of his agent.
Who knew
Did he say anything about Matt
Gene on 23rd August 2024 2:21 pm
