It still stings, but we need to park the pain of defeat and get back on the horse tomorrow. Reversals can become infectious, they can drive confidence into a spiral. For my money, this phenomenon in part formed Brendan’s reaction after the game on Wednesday. He was relatively upbeat, containing the consequences by saying whatever positives were available.
Kilmarnock are the only domestic opponents to beat Celtic this season, so we have are reasons to be cautious.
Our motivation should be clear, win, and put seven points between us and St Mirren, with the Paisley club playing Newco on Sunday. Let’s hope our Glasgow rivals can do is a favour and peg Saints back.

mmmm betty.
SS- give them same amount of tickets, as we see on.here ,non ST holders always looking for tickets
Evening all.
Apparently from SSB (Clyde 1) last night it’s Bully Davis!!!!
Just sh@t ‘ma ‘sel.
Nite y’all
Stay classy, tell your friends, they’ll like it.

Brian
Hearts have slashed the amount of away tickets to us to accommodate the demand from their own support.
I get that.
Does any team in Scotland have a bigger waiting list than us.?
Let’s reciprocate and look after our own supporters who desire tickets.
Who will look after the interests of Celtic supporters if we don’t.
HH.
See some of the usual suspects on here peddling the same myths and narrative, which, to be fair, is usually Paul67s job. Tant Pis.
One, that we were close to joiining the EPL/EFL some fifteen and twenty years back. (Please supply evidence before I once again throw into the dustbin of history. (RIP Phil Garstside)
Two, we cannot do better at the European level, despite decades of experience er because….we just can’t.
That’s all folks!
Bada Bing
We were close enough to getting a champions league result on Wednesday. It’s my point exactly that with the energy and passion of a supporting crowd as enjoyed by MON and Neil we might have just done it. The apprehensive nervous moaners don’t help.
Celtic Mac
Can you tell me of any activation you know by our board that has happened to get us out of this league ?
I can tell you of 1 definite one which we rejected out of hand. I was there. Murray was much more receptive but ultimately it needed both to engage. If I was an investor I would ask why we did not actively pursue an agenda for change though. We stood to gain more than most. Now the window of opportunity diminishes each year as other have stated.
Bookies have Phillipe Clemont an uneasy favourite to take over at snake mountain. Scores zero on the staunchometre and possibly kafflick? Shirley knot.

Don’t be shy lad
Spill the beans?

“Two, we cannot do better at the European level, despite decades of experience er because….we just can’t.”

I think I’ve missed the usual suspects on this.
Can you point out the daftness who said “we cannot do better in Europe”?
An T
Do you seriously think a reserve league will help our players, who have 93% of their domestic games trying to break down a weak opponent playing a 451 or 55 or similar system, to step up and compete in a proper football match against a team who played at a decent level most weeks in the CL.
Ok Mod
2004
Reagan was CEO at the newly created Championship
ITV digital were their broadcast partner
ITV digital went bust
Reagan was shit scared that would lose their decent TV deal and Championship revenues.
Reagan knew of power of OF and saw them as solution
Lord Mahwinney was chair and would not allow OF into championship without caveats.
Caveats agreed by Reagan and Lord M were 3 year moratorium on promotion for both OF teams and parachute into CHampionship but with no TV revenues for the first 3 year period. The OF part of the revenues to be allocated to the clubs in the 2 lower leagues.
Murray saw the writing on the wall and was very keen to engage. We were enjoying a post Seville boon in brand awareness and ‘feel good’ despite the hefty losses. We seemed more confident there would be a better future and change to come.
Sky came along and offered the championship an amazing deal 6 months later and neither they or the EPL had any need for us thereafter.
Reagan came to Scotland and SFA and Stuart (the Hun) Thompson RIP went to the Championship as CEO.
Both verified this.
burnley78
Give me one example of a proposal which went before, not our Board, but either the EPL or EFL Board or both.
BURNLEY78
Thank you matey
sftb
At least you recognise yourself as one of the usual suspects…
And for that I will give you full marks for self-awareness
And that at least is a step in the right direction
Keep up the good work
Celtic Mac
To clarify this did not reach the board as it was not viewed positively enough to get to that.
It did get to David Murray who was keen and hosted Reagan and others to discuss further prior to a CL match on the day he visited CP with th e proposal.
burnley78
Doesn’t seem like it got anywhere
BURNLEY78
To clarify
How far up the chain did it make it???
As history has shown Murray was desperate to get rid of the hot plate he had cooked??
Celtic Mac
If I am one of the usual suspects- perhaps you can link the post in which I made the incriminating statement because I am pretty sure I said the opposite.
I expect to be waiting a long time. An accusation is easy; delivering proof is hard.
And, sorry, I can’t even award marks for self awareness.
BURNLEY78
Still waiting on how far up the chain it made it???
As for SFTB and Celtic Mac – I can check back and pull the posts
Where should I be looking???
Haud on
What are posts being pulled for?
Um
If I am one of the usual suspects- perhaps you can link the post in which I made the incriminating statement because I am pretty sure I said the opposite.
not sure what the incriminating statement was
or even what you chaps were arguing about
But happy to help out?
pulled for as in
Cut and pasted?
to this thread
Sorry Mod
I don’t see the need for help and I can’t see where I asked for it.
I posted directly to Celtic Mac. It’s up to him to justify his accusation about me. I can’t see how it is anyone else’s business. He did not use bad language or break any rules of the blog. Neither did I.

================
I was on your side mate.
If you could let me know the rough date range you were talking about we could blow him out the water???
If you can’t, you sunk yourself?
“perhaps you can link the post in which I made the incriminating statement because I am pretty sure I said the opposite.”
Thats why I asked?
Melvin
Would do for me.
sftb
Let us assume every Celtic supporter knows which league we play in.
A League which, for all its’ faults and weaknesses has given us the opportunity to access directly or indirectly into Europe since 2000. Not always taken. A lot of football experience with or without the untold millions of money. Opportunity. (me et al)
“……we are condemned to the fodder/also ran category…” (you)
Proof positive as the Major once said
Mod
You should be on the blog’s side and just see if there was any blog offence committed. I don’t see any offence to the blog just attributing something to me that I did not say. I don’t think it needs mod intervention and I am not seeking it.
SFTB
I never said anyone broke rules
I asked if I could help in justifying or not justifying a statement that was or was not made???
I am on no ones side here as no one broke any rules
I asked if either of you requried me to go thru the blog and look for the offending/non offending post and help you guys out with a recollection
“perhaps you can link the post in which I made the incriminating statement because I am pretty sure I said the opposite.”
Was trying to help YOU out as you were sure you were right??
Celtic Mac
““……we are condemned to the fodder/also ran category…” (you)
Proof positive as the Major once said”
———————————
And I know what I meant by that as I spelled it out in full.
I also know that I said explicitly “Of course, we can and should do better in Europe. We have been under-performing ”
and
“We can, of course, have a glory year like 2003 or like the Huns had in 2008 and 2022, or we had in our 3 last 16 CL experiences. We can, also, do much better than we have been doing, as, even given our restrictions, we have been under-performing.”
So, you can see my argument is a bit more nuanced than your simplistic
“See some of the usual suspects on here peddling the same myths and narrative, which, to be fair, is usually Paul67s job. Tant Pis.
Two, we cannot do better at the European level, despite decades of experience er because….we just can’t.”
Mod
it’s quite simple
Celtic Mac and I are sorting this within blog rules.
Neither of us has sought Mod intervention or assistance or sees that it is necessary.
SFTB
Seems like you asked for proof, which I has happy to unequivocally provide
If you don’t want that then dont fecking ask for
“perhaps you can link the post in which I made the incriminating statement because I am pretty sure I said the opposite.”
Whilst you never asked for me to get involved, don’t ask the above???
Or I won’t offer to link the incriminating statetment??
Or am I missing something here bud?
Or can you just shout for proof and greet when someone offers to provide it?
Mod

I feel I’ve fallen into Alice in Wonderland.
I posted to Celtic Mac directly asking for proof- he has responded and I have responded to that.
I never addressed you. I have told you twice now that I never addressed you or sought your help.
Most of the time 2 posters can have a discussion and sort things themselves without need of a Mod.
I cannot make that any clearer, sorry.
This has nothing to do with you. Please respect that.
