CONTROVERSIAL REFEREE SET FOR CELTIC PARK DEBUT

NICK WALSH will referee his first Celtic game when they face Kilmarnock at Parkhead on Saturday.
The rookie match official issued seven red cards in his first 11 matches last season and ended the campaign with 12 sendings-off in 31 outings.
Walsh angered ex-Hoops boss Neil Lennon when he dismissed Martin Bartley for a challenge on Ayr United’s Jamie Adams as Hibs lost 2-1 at Easter Road at the weekend.
The Irishman claimed: “We paid the price for a poor refereeing performance and a decision that ultimately influenced the course of the game.”
Hibs have lodged an appeal against Bartley’s ordering-off and will find out today if he will be allowed to play in the top-of-the-table clash against Queen of the South at Palmerston.
