Copenhagen resumed league duty after their winter break on Friday with a defeat to 13th placed (of 14) Edbjerg. That result damaged an already under-pressure league challenge, Midtjylland are 7 points clear of second place Copenhagen with 10 games remaining.
Form going into the break on 16 December was scrappy. Four single goal wins followed a 4-1 thumping by Midtjylland. The last time Copenhagen fans saw their team win a competitive game by more than a single goal was 3 November. They qualified for the Europa League knockout round courtesy of two wins in the group stage, both against Lugano, who are 7th in Switzerland.
Nothing is easy at this stage away from home in Europe. Copenhagen are at a level right now that Aberdeen cannot dream of, we will face a far tougher challenge on Thursday than we did on Sunday. Notwithstanding that, if Neil Lennon is as prepared as he normally is on European nights, there is reason for confidence.

MACJAY1 FOR NEIL LENNON on 18TH FEBRUARY 2020 1:50 PM
THE HANDS CANT HIT WHAT THE EYES CANT SEE on 18TH FEBRUARY 2020 11:27 AM
Excellent summary.
Teething troubles in VAR are inevitable .
Hand ball ? Easy . Every handball is a foul.
Simple and clear .
Removes the ridiculous proposition that a referee is able to assess what is going on in a players mind as to whether a handball is Intentional or unintentional .
And reduces the element of bias intruding on decision making .
Now wouldn`t that be nice !
The clincher.
Sepp Blatter was against the introduction of VAR.
It would surely have prevented this .
A refereeing decision which sent France ( Big TV population ) to South Africa and not Ireland ( small tv viewing population )
Follow the money .

I don’t think anyone is being smug and certainly not the manager or players, which is all that matters really.
But a quick analysis of the stats shows that Copenhagen do not score many goals for a top team in Denmark and their defensive record is not good enough to win them the title there either.
Of course we all factor in the fact its Celtic away from home in Europe and wonder what can go wrong next but Lenny has made us harder to beat and we don’t take unnecessary risks at the back.
Of course, its football, a deflection can carry the ball into your net, a rash decision may see you down to 10 men, etc, so no one is counting their chickens (except Slippy G, who has a dressing room full of them).
We are hot favourites to progress and over 2 legs Copenhagen will need to play the game of their lives and have a large slice of good fortune to put us out such is the form we are in at the moment.

Macjay wants every hand ball to be a penalty.
So instead of needing skilful players aiming to score a goal you would just get players aiming to hit other players hands deliberately.
Is he just as clueless about other subjects outside football?
Copenhagen’s top scorer leaves the club 2 days before Celtic game. That should help them.
Seems he has joined Astana. Can only be good for us.Might have a flutter now.

I would encourage everyone to go back to Page 1 comments and read Chris Jack’s article in The National Posted by EMERALDBEE @ 1:14 PM
It illustratesvhow the Huns are getting a raw deal from the MIB !!!!
Implications that we are getting all the decisions and the Huns are being shafted.
If this was lifted from Fascist Fascist you would only be surprised by the correct spelling and the absence of swearies.
It times past we would suspect that it had been given the Awenaw treatment.
There really is no need for comment, it speaks for itself.
I’m away back to read it again , i couldn’t really believe it the first time.

Is Polish Paddy in the squad for Thursday?
A score draw will do nicely in Copenhagen
Lenny will not be taking anything for granted on Thursday night against Copenhagen as he played on the Celtic side that lost 3-1 to the same opposition in Denmark after beating them 1-0 at Celtic Park. The game was a dead rubber as the Hoops had already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, the unforgettable year we beat Man Utd also in the group stage at Parkhead. Lenny will be ready.
Paul67 et al
Last night two recent EL and Cl double winners played each other in a game which could help decide fifth, six or seventh in the EPL. A game ruined by VAR, one of many in that league this season. Both will resume playing in Europe at some point. Despite the Champions League throwing up some of the best match-ups in football, some of us will lose track of the fixtures before the second leg is even played. God only knows why both the EL and the CL matches cannot be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively, two weeks apart, with Thursdays reserved for big matches like the a PetroFac quarter final. We all know the answer but the fact is UEFA has overcooked the Golden Goose, dissipated its TV audience, alienated more and more football supporters and negatively impacted National Leagues with an increased reliance on Sunday football. Or in other words, job done.
When is the draw for the next round of the Europa?
