Good morning CQN from another windswept and rain soaked Garngad ffs is there no end to this wind and rain, oh and snow.
As I said last night 1-1 will do me away from home in Europe.
Some were good, some were not so good, but at least we were making chances.
We will score at least 2 at paradise then it’s down to containing them.
So we move onto Sunday and Kilmasonic and an 11 man defence along their 18 yard line… Boring.

Good morning Bhoys and a Big Happy Friday from a very wet (again!”) and blustery East Kilbride.
So, how did we (and Braga) not have the game won by half time and how did we (and Braga) end up not winning? 2 eventful games and 2 return legs to look forward to (I seem to remember that theirs is next Wednesday).
AS for our own best performers, you know what to do – 1 email, 3 names and make your voice heard before 10pm tonight to CQNPOTY@GMAIL.COM . results might be a bit delayed as I’m on Papa Babysitting duties at my daughter’s with out my big computer. But I’ll do my best ;-)
I expect the Celts to put Copenhagen to the sword next week, however I will only be fully happy if the 1-1 last night PROVES to be enough, or if Celts score a few in the return game.
Also that Flukey Jammy Hun 3rd goal cost me over £100 as I had Celts to draw 1-1 at 5/1, and the Huns to draw 2-2 @16/1 in a correct score double.
I could have cashed out, and I was still thinking about it when the huns scored their 3rd with that deflection.
Why is Hagi been given the credit for scoring that 3rd goal….when there was that wicked deflection ?

Our midfield was poor last night, you could have taken any of them off in the second half. I thought it was the right decision to change shape bringing Elyounoussi on, putting Forrest to the right wing and change one midfielder.
Ntcham or Christie, both of whom were sub par, Christie more off his game for me despite Ntcham getting caught in possession for their goal.
We left at least two or three away goals on that pitch last night and somehow ended up hanging on, not stopping crosses into the box and but for a great save by an under-worked Forster would have lost the game which would have been a travesty based on chances created.
Anyhoo, onwards and upwards, another bug game this weekend and onto the second leg at Celtic Park next week.

got that wrong thought we would win with a few goals to spare and the huns to lose football can be very strange at times we had no luck and the huns had plenty so think both celtic and braga will gp through to last 16 would not mind to much if we got them hh

First half we should have been out of sight.Second they were faster and played a whole lot better.I do believe we can get a result that will keep our Europa dreams alive under the lights and a packed Celtic Park.

Pat Bonner says Celtic will be relieved to get a draw from last night. I understand why he would say that after a penalty was saved.
But in the balance of play Celtic should have scored 2 or 3 last night. The tie would have been almost over.
Whats the score with SB ?. Was it precautionary ?.

Ntcham didn’t have his best performance last night.
Stats show he was the player dispossessed the most.
Passing accuracy lowest.
Three shots. One on target (straight at keeper)

I’d expect Celtic to progress next week, but it should be a lot more comfortable than it is.
We are really weak in the full back area and I’ve got to question the decision to play an 19 year old kid away in Europe in his first game back from injury. Young Frimpong is dynamite going forward in the SPL, but he can’t defend and has dreadful positional awareness.
As for the left full back position, we won’t even go there.
I’m also coming to the view that Christie is not the man for important games. He doesn’t turn up. As I’ve said before, in important games I’d have only one of Johnson, Forrest and Christie on the pitch at any one time, so was disappointed to see him and Forrest start the game.

I’d be tempted to start Elyounissi on Sunday. With Christie suspended next Thursday, Lenny will need to decide whether to start Griff or keep the shape and go with elyounissi on the left.
Moi needs game time if he’s to start in the second leg.
I’m sure some Utd and Sevilla fans are disappointed with their 1-1 away draws last night but I’d suspect most are happy this morning.

I would agree with a lot of that . Ntcham and Christie , two key players, were right off their game. Jeremie clearly wasn’t at his best after his injury , but our options at FB were limited by injuries to Elhamed and Taylor , while Bolingoli would not have been any improvement on JH . All of this and Broony’s injury contributed to that jittery second half.

We had a £3m left back on the bench.
Agree re. Christie seems unable to hold onto the ball and always in a rush.
Good morning from a wet and windy Morayshire. Before last night’s game I would have taken a score draw but woke up this morning feeling as if we had lost the game. I personally would have hooked underperforming Ollie at HT. He is a sublime footballer when on his game but doesn’t like the rough and tumble. Why no VAR decision on their hand ball on the lead up to their goal?
I wonder how bad Broonie’s injury is? A bit of a conundrum as when he was out last season we played better football but his drive and leadership gets us through a lot of tough games – but that’s why we have a squad.
According to BBC Scotland, last night, Celtic could only manage a draw whilst over at the bigot dome sevco had won the CL. Braga are a very good footballing team with a massive Achilles heel.
You could have put money on being the first Scottish team to play under VAR that the decision would go against us. Definitely a penalty but never a yellow card, which means Ryan misses next week’s game. We may be without Broonie and Ryan next Thursday. Tom Rogic get your boots on. 😉

Nail on head mate . Our midfield in that second half were never in it , and not for the first time . I hope to god that elhamed ,and Taylor are fit for Thursday and the rest of the season , we have had an unsettled full back area all season . I think we will progress ,but performances like that second half will need cut out . Especially against them in a few weeks , they will be up for getting stuck into us ,they know we don’t like it .

we really have to get ELHAMED and TAYLOR fit imo for the rest of this season they are by far our best options for full backs , play young Frimpong in front Elhamed on the right wing back position and we will be flying once again.

I would have been quite content with a 1-1 Away draw……had Braga humped Sevco :-))
I now feel we have to trial the formation and selection for the return leg, against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Ryan Christie is definitely out AND, if there are doubts about Scott Brown, then we need to find a way to play without him.
That probably means trusting N’tcham and McGregor as the deeper lying midfielders, and it means Ollie will have to curb his over-confidence in tight situations in our half ( he should still be allowed and encouraged to do his half turns in their half).
It also means the return of Tom Rogic as our 10. He will need the Killie game to get up to speed. Frimpong and Elyanoussi will have benefited from last night’s game and a run vs Killie and should be up to speed. Jonny Hayes, again, showed that in the competition between our 3 problematic LBs, you get his determination and effort and hunger, to weigh against Boliingoli’s atheleticism and defensive weakness, and Taylor’s as-yet journeyman game which is still adjusting to this level. On balance, Jonny did enough to get to go again.
Given Copenhagen’s 2nd half atheleticism and midfield drives, we will probably go with 4 at the back so I am going for
Forster
Frimpong Jullien Ajer Hayes
N’tcham McGregor
Forrest Rogic Elyanoussi
Edouard.
If Elhamed is not fit for Killie, he should not be risked in the return leg, so listed subs may have to be Simunovic, Bitton, Taylor or Bolingoli, Bayo or Griff.
I am expecting a tough tie with both Celtic and Copenhagen playing better than they did last night. Braga, until their late collapse, looked a cut above both Scottish teams and the Danes.
