Jullien was immense last night yet you are STILL looking for the slightest thing to criticise him about. The goal had nothing to do with him

Ffs give it a rest with your weird vendetta against him

I did say he had a great game last night credit were credit due , and I have been very critical in the past , no vendetta ,imo it was poor pass.

  2. NOT FOOTNALL RELATED

I would guess that many on here can remember a time when the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World was the most famous person on the planet and Title fights were front page news.

Tomorrow`s Wilder V Fury fight is not at that level but it has aroused my interest more than any Heavyweight fight in years.

  3. Bada Bing Have to disagree with you about Ajer, personally I don’t think he is suited playing at left back, better on the right, seems to get caught out with his lack off pace at times, but he is a trier, anyway wee should have finished the tie ,but hopefully wee will beat them next Thursday

  4. Timbhoy2,

Agree with you on Ajer on the right, but not about his pace.He is very quick.Only Jeremy quicker in the squad.

They tested it out a Lennoxtown couple of weeks ago.

  5. Frimpong constantly drifted into the middle when they were attacking, leaving a huge space and an unmarked runner.

  6. At the end of the day,it was a good result. An away goal and a draw.Copenhagen beat D Kiev and Malmo, who put on a good show last night.Considering we had Griff,Taylor,Elhamady, out,Broony off injured,we should be delighted to go again next week.Too much negativity sometimes.

  7. The hands cant hit what the eyes cant see on

Ntcham’s pass last night was reminiscent of Armstrong’s during the Scotland v England game at Hampden. An easy pass was on but he didn’t take the option and we were punished for it. Unfortunately for Ntcham his misplaced pass, in amongst numerous misplaced passes by us last night, resulted in the goal.

  8. HOT SMOKED on 21ST FEBRUARY 2020 11:11 AM

Jullien, Ajer, Forrest and Hayes in that order of merit from that site

    ____

Which rings true to me. They were great last night albeit making a few mistakes.

I should say that I was comparing Ntcham to other midfielders. I wouldn’t say he was a disaster. He just had an up and down game. Christie too.

Our long balls out of defence in the second half were poor.

The subs didn’t particularly help. Thought Bitton was poor.

  9. Our long balls out of defence in the second half were poor.

agree , we started to just hump the ball up the park to relieve pressure .

Clip of the goal here- https://streamja.com/1d42

Ntcham has three easy passes on and makes the wrong choice. The pass by Jullien is fine. However, look at the shape and structure of the team. Really poor.

When we lose the ball there are 3 Copenhagen players in front of our two CBs, both of whom are lined up standing one behind the other. Both full backs are already pushing on. When the Copenhagen player who provides the assist receives the ball it is effectively a 4 v 2 as midfield and full backs are out of it.

    Thanks.

  11. Timbhoy2- you must be getting mixed up mate, never commented on Ajer, although I thought he was outstanding last night. HH

  12. I think Neil Lennon will have a hard job picking between Christie, Ntcham, Elyounoussi and Rogic for two spots

No they didn’t. They drew twice with Kiev and drew away and lost at home to Malmo.

watched the clip again , still feel that Julien played a sloppy ball to no one and considering his starting position he should have just cleared his lines.

    1) Our first Sunday game 6 nil winners.Name opponents?

    2) Celtic win their first European tie in extra time, 4 -2 .Name the country of the defeated side.

    3) As Celtic unveil their ninth successive flag,Kilmarnock are the visitors.Name the former Celt in charge of Killie?

Bit of fun for the old folk.

    Nail on head mate .

    =========================================================

    Unfortunate turns of phrase.

Last night Jullien had someone who got in his face . Literally .

And manfully carried on for the rest of the game with a cotton roll protruding from his nose.

In terms of courage , he`ll do me .

  17. Some of the stick, Jullien gets on here is well over the top IMO,he was outstanding last night, as none of our midfielders could keep possession of the ball.

  18. The hands cant hit what the eyes cant see on

I think tactics and formation cost us again last night and not for the first time this season. While we have some gifted players who can threaten going forward, we are a complete shambles in setting up a solid formation and reacting to the opposition’s tactics.

See link to last night’s chances- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO8SR6WRj6s

In the first half I think all our good chances came in the first 15 minutes. I assume this was on account of our intensity when compared to Copenhagen’s rustiness having not played competitively for the last 2 months.

Copenhagen made a tactical change midway through the first half by dropping their striker (Santos) back into midfield to provide more protection. After that, chances for us did dry up (we still threatened on occasion in the 2nd half on the break). I also think the head injury to Jullien allowed them to re-group and re-set.

However, look at some of their opportunities and the shape/structure of the team:

2:16 into the highlights is Copenhagen’s chance in the first half. When they win the ball back it is near enough a 5 v 3 in their favour and when Jullien (and Frimpong) step out to make the tackle it is a 4 v 2.Christie, a midfielder and not a winger, is playing very narrow, letting their full back run free. Frimpong gets attracted to the ball, even though Jullien and Christie are in attendance and so leaves space for their full back to get the shot off.

2:25 – Worst of all Hayes is around 30 yards out from our goal when the shot is taken. Their RW has a tap in if a rebound falls his way. A catalogue of defensive errors stemming from a complete lack of shape.

    2:43- their goal.

Once again, we lose the ball and it leads to a 4 v 2 in their favour and both our full backs are pushing up the park and are far too wide. leaving their wingers acres of spaces to come inside and attack the space. Midfield again all ahead of the ball.

We really need to work on our shape and tactics. We cannot be so ill-disciplined at this level of competition. In the SPFL everyone can flood forward as most teams do not have the quality to punish us. Why the full backs are being told to bomb forward is completely beyond me.

  19. Go tell the Spartim on

Confirmation bias is alive and kicking (i realise im utilising my own confirmation bias in writing)

Youd think some of the contributors on here worked for the good ole BBC Scotland, who are there usual positive selves with their unattributed article, why dont they open the comments pages like they do on the proper BBC website.

I wish we had two or three the quality of CB as Julien, as Etims put it, if only we couldve addressed our defensive needs at some point, guess we didnt have the opportunity.

I think we’ll put the tie out of sight in the first half next week but wouldnt be surprised if its 0-0 at half time, Copenhagen need to come out and attack at some point and im sure we’ll be ready.

I suspect \0/ will probably miss sunday but will def be in the team for Thursday

  23. Hello again all you young rebels.

Walking about locally today, usual comments, “good result Mick.”

“Do them at Celtic park ”

Don’t know why so much negativity from some of our fans, but it’s

been that way for as long as i remember.

It will never change, but point a bayonet at them and they will scratch

    your eyes out.

Anyhows, thought Broony looked a yard off the pace last night is it

    time to introduce Soro?
