The SFA, SPL and SFL confirmed revelations yesterday that they met at Hampden on Friday evening and released a 126 word joint statement. It claimed “all three parties have been involved in productive discussions for some time on the subject of league reconstruction”.
Be that as it may, you could put your house on the fact that there would be no talk of hastily-arranged league reconstruction in the next few weeks if there remained a possibility that SPL clubs would vote a Newco into the league at their meeting on 4 July.
Disingenuous: lacking in frankness, candour or sincerity.
There is no mention of subverting every rule in the game to ensure a team called ‘Rangers’ are positioned in as high a league system as possible. The statement is completely disingenuous. Having lost the battle to parachute Newco-Rangers into the SPL, Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster have redrawn the battle lines.
Celtic supporters are the great cash cow that is expected to pay for the crimes of others. It’s up to you if you want to Cough up for Killie (etc.).

CELTIC’S youth coaches are continuing to develop ties with former Hoops winger, Didier Agathe, and his football academy in Reunion by currently taking part in a two-day event on the French island.
Head of Youth, Chris McCart and Academy scout Davie Moss, first jetted out to Agathe’s homeland in October 2011, and the club are keen to maintain that connection.
Head of Professional Youth, Tommy McIntyre, U20s’ coach, John Kennedy, and Development Squad coach, Stevie Frail, were involved in coaching yesterday, (Sunday), and will be watching a series of matches which take place today, (Monday).
Agathe has been working tirelessly to discover and nurture talent from Reunion, and the surrounding Islands on the Indian Ocean, with three of his players signing for Stirling Albion two years ago.
McCart told the official Celtic website: “It is certainly worthwhile having links with Didier Agathe. He is looking to put something back into the club and you never know, with the quality of Didier, we could find a special player.”

The Jags clan very dis-chuffed at the “New Co in SFL1” deal. They have communicated this to the Thistle boardroom people.
Dis-chuffed I like that…
Dischuffed is an understatement. They have been raging since Friday night and hopefully most other Div1 clubs feel the same.
Does anyone know what the make up of the restructuring would be and who decides on it?
Of course what should have happened is that Oldco should have been relegated for financial irregularities from SPL before the season ended – then on entering liquidation any newco would be in div 3 as per Livingston –

If Newco goes to an SFL vote and they need 66% of clubs to vote for them into Div 1 how many clubs do you think will say yes?
Division 1 sides will say no as it stops them getting into the SPL AND Div 3 teams won’t because they’ll want the revenue from playing them for a season and it is likely Div 2 will does the same knowing that that money will be theirs in a year or so (provided there is any team to play).
My money is still on no involvement for a year and then league reconstruction.
They’ll be lucky to get a squad of 20.
any news on fraser Forster, Markus Henriksen, Jordan rhodes and Matt Mills?

So is it 66% of the SFL clubs that need to vote them in to Division 1?
‘My money is still on no involvement for a year and then league reconstruction.’
============
Snake Plissken, I’m thinking the same. Or else, in the event they do get it together for next season, 1 year in Div 3 then league reconstruction next summer.

Whats your info on the big story tomorrow, is it genuine?
A poster got banned on RM for suggesting the same thing but the ban was more for the fact he gave his location as Rome and it was his first post. He said something is in the air which is going to completely change the landscape at Ibrox and would be in the public domain by tomorrow. Thats all he said and they banned him so it shows how worried they are…he didn’t even suggest whether it was going to be a negative or positive story(from a hun point of view) and they still banned him.

Do you have any more information on this? I’ve heard rumours, but nothing of any substance.
The one about Paul Baxendale-Walker and compromising pics of SFA/SPL officials at Minty’s pad are especially interesting.

That is what Cosgrove said on Off the ball on Saturday.
It is a pretty large number of clubs who need to say yes and as we are learning a lot of Division 1 sides are opposed.
It looks unworkable no matter the amount of scheming going on inside hampden.
HT
I thought it required a 75% majority to change SFL rules.

Thanks for that I feel slightly better about it now as, going by the ground swell of opinion, there ain’t no chance that they’ll get 66% of all SFL clubs voting them in.
MWD
That’s what is confusing me!!
Is it a vote to change SFL rules or is it a vote to permit newco into the first division and therefore is it 75% or 66%??
Tucking into a brilliant ham and cabbage with new potatoes combo from the canteen at work. It’s years since I’ve had this classic dish and I’m lovin it!
Anybody recommend places in and around Glasgow which serve the delicacy? Thanks.

Likewise, just trying to find out if this is a goer, Hen1rik posted the following at 00:04 and a poster on RM also alluded to news breaking tomorrow:
‘Lads i will post some tweets and you can draw your own conclusions.
heard a meeting was held in a hotel in renfrew y’day statement to come out on tueday, don’t know what it concerns.
Anyone remember that song Monday Monday? I think we as Celtic fans will rename it Tuesday Tuesday this week ;)
The proverbial baw is indeed burst. Unless I have been lied to, by respected individuals within the establishment,. Its over
Sorry wasn’t meaning to be cryptic. I heard a story re meeting in a renfew hotel. I trust source. He said news to break tuesday’
Wouldn’t it be fun if they eventually got admitted to Div 3, then the SevcoGreens went into administration.
How many points do you get docked in Div 3?
Has it ever happened?
Oh, my aching sides!
HT
I believe it is 75% majority vote to change rules and the 2/3 majority to accept an application from a new club. Haven’t got time to go through SFL rules but here is a link to them.

That is my thinking exactly.
IF and it is a huge IF they sort all the barriers in 6 weeks (as they’ll need to take part in the Challenge cup games at the end of July as a lower league side regardless of Div 1 or 3 status), it seems HIGHLY unlikely that
Partick Thistle
Falkirk
Raith Rovers
Dundee/Dunfermline
QOTS
And other promotion hopefuls will say Yes
Ayr United, Airdrie and a couple of others can move back up a league (whoever it was that went down in play-offs with a re-jig.
This bombs out so many clubs whose own supporters will say no way or we will walk.
Cowdenbeath and Airdrie will vote for them because of “Culturally supportive” Chairmen but like Michael Johnston, they are in the minority.
There is no way that 66% of the clubs will say yes because the lower league will get money from 4000 – 5000 extra people going to their ground for 10 quid or 20 or whatever it costs to go to a Division 3 game.
They can pay at the gate at places like Hampden and they can boost the coffers of the smaller clubs.
They ain’t gonna vote them into Div 1 and lose that money.
In my view these are the likely outcomes:
1. Newco go to division 3 and play there for a season. The SFL/SFA/SPL merge and the second and first divisions merge which means Newco will have a shot of getting promotion to the SPL after 2 years rather than 1.
Relegation places will increase and play-offs will return bringing in more revenue.
By this time some of the anger against newco will have calmed down from a number of supporters and they will be able to gerrymander with less resistance.
Newco will recieve the same kind of refereeing as oldco in this new Divison 1 (which may have 16 -18 teams in it with certain criteria being required for entry such as stadium size and seating) It seems very likely.
2. Newco do not play anywhere next year. They gather investors and a playing staff is assembled in time for Season 2013-14.
They then apply to get into a newly revamped Division 1 which has more teams in it as they cannot play in Division 3 which is almost part time entirely and they get close to if not back to the SPL in a year or two.
They could solve all these problems by simply sending the new club into Division 3 but I have serious doubts they’ll be able to make the grade in the next 6 weeks.

R.Stevie Moore I don’t know, what’s his bag?? Soul, Blues??
Dub movies I have seen recently that were good were the Souljazz Studio One story and Dub echoes, both worth a look..

I think it must be 66% to allow Newco in as they need 8 votes from 12 to get in the SPL which aint gonna happen.
Hope there are a few more deserting the sinking ship today.
