Where to start on last night’s CQN11 St Patrick’s Dinner? We knocked it out the park. Hundreds came, thousands of pounds were raised, enough to help Mary’s Meals build a kitchen for a thousand more school kids in Malawi, and a £5,000 donation to Lisa Hague’s 30k Challenge for Marie Curie Challenge for Cancer Care.
My sincere thanks to everyone who came along and made the night so special, especially those who stepped forward and helped Mary’s Meals and Lisa’s Challenge. The night could not have happened without Phil Agnew’s experience, work and charm. He is a credit to everything good about the Celtic support.
Special thanks to Tom Boyd, John Hughes, Joe Miller and Tommy Coyne, who added range to the night at the Q&A session. Thanks to Stuart Armstrong, who dropped in to spend an hour with us, and share some of his undisguised joy at being a Celtic player.
Archie Macpherson spoke about the world Jock Stein blew apart when he arrived at Celtic 50 years ago this week. Archie’s range on Scottish football is peerless. He became a friend and confidant of Jock, and gave us an insight into the extraordinary man.
No St Patrick’s Night would be complete without great music and for that our thanks to Patricia Ferns and Liam McGrandles, and a special mention those who put their shoulder to the wheel on the night, especially Geo from Biglens and the great hospitality staff at Celtic.
I’ve many people to catch up with but I’m planning to sleep for the next several days. Cup Final apart.
If all weekends were like this weekend………
If all gatherings were like Celtic gatherings……….

Not often we agree but fair play nail on head
League Cup Final…………… we have an atrocious record in this fixture 7-1 and five in a row aside.
Tom McLaughlin…..
Just read your post.
Just wanted to say God Bless you and yours. I hope that today will form a fine memory for you – regardless of the outcome of a football game.
Ronnie
A touching story Tom. Reminds of when I went through a very similar situation in 2003.
Hail Hail
Gerry
Tom best wishes to your mum and I hope you have a great day with your dad today and we are all celebrating later.
Dia dhaoibh, a Chairde,
Getting excited now about the match. No predictions this week as I could not have been more wrong last week. C’mon the Hoops. Off into town now to watch the match

Turkeybhoy & DD,
Funny enough Madden and McLean get piles of abuse on here. I rarely complain about their performances against us.
I hope I’m still saying this come 5pm.

You will get some products in boots to help you with that bud.
Hopefully the match will take your mind off it.

A beautiful post Tom McLaughlin. I was thinking of my mother and father today with love and gratitude for all of the gifts they bestowed on me.
They were many and varied, including their love of Celtic. May they rest in peace.
I hope you and your parents have a special day together. God bless them.
Parked up, no team news yet…bad omen of North Stand seats and no bhoy with me…Konterman flashbacks
Hail!
Hail!
The Celts are here!!
Rest of post went missing? Just saying I could do with some positive thoughts. Need Nir to be 100% fit, no chances taken. If anyone had thought a year ago that he would be a player for us? I would have said yes, he always looked the part to me.

Lol.
Got Jack and Jim to help it pass. ;)

Prediction:
Dundee United 3-5 Celtic AET
jmccormick –
Agreed. I have been a big fan of Nir from day one, mainly because he reminds me of big George Connolly, in stature and the way he moves, tackles and distributes the ball.

I have given my ticket to Squire junior who was away early waggin his tail with his troops. The bhoy’s been knocking his pan in on this dissertation of his, as well as working part time
I’ve seen us winning umpteen trophies at Hampden, time for the young wans to enjoy what I have enjoyed several times.
The Celtic family continues, hope everyone has a grand day.

Well the young fella’s team lost in their Feile Final. He played well though.

cheers, don’t think he’s as good as big George, reminds me of Busquets more. He can be as good as him in my opinion.
