CQN and Celtic Supporters Liaison

475

I’m having a preoccupied week, so Hot Smoked and vfr800a8 have kindly stepped forward with today’s article, and an initiative, which will hopefully establish a direct route for the blog to ask questions of the club.

This is from  Hot Smoked and vfr800a8, please support the initiative:

In 2004 Paul67 decided that something was needed to combat the distorted MSSM reporting on all things Celtic.  The result was the birth of CQN.

Like all good ideas, CQN has developed and now provides an outlet for discussions ranging from Independence to toasted cheese.  Nevertheless, the raison d`etre of the site remains the same i.e. as provision of a vehicle to inform on all matters Celtic from a less prejudiced view than that of the MSSM.  However, there are still issues that arise that could do with some direct input and clarification from Celtic.

With that in mind, we contacted John Paul Taylor, the Celtic Supporters Liaison Officer and after discussion he has agreed to host a weekly/fortnightly Q & A session at a set time on CQN.  He is also willing to do a Blog Q&A session on a regular basis if required; the frequency of the “regular basis” is yet to be defined so we will approach this flexibly.

If there are urgent issues that arise then we can approach John Paul to see if there is a possibility of a response prior to the scheduled meetings, though it is expected that this will only take place in exceptional circumstances.

Initially, to ensure that all areas of any given topic are covered, we would propose we tackle different sets of questions on separate weeks; for example:

Week 1 – Res 12 and “same club” issues

Week 2 – The stadium, fan experience and safety at other stadiums

Week 3 – Ticket allocation issues

Week 4 – Offensive Behaviour at Football Act

The questions and issues will be collated centrally on CQN and grouped to reflect the various views on the Blog.  We feel that this approach is unique to CQN and don’t think any other fan site has this opportunity so we must use it wisely.

It is envisaged that if those using CQN see this as being useful and beneficial that we start the meetings on Friday 18th November 2016, so we would finalise questions and issues by mid-day on tomorrow, 17th November to get them to John Paul.  Please send questions you would like to raise to competition@celticquicknews.co.uk and Liason in the subject line

So, let us know what you think and if the feedback is positive, we can get this off the ground!  If there are issues or questions you have on Res 12 and the same club myth please let us know by noon tomorrow by emailing competition@celticquicknews.co.uk

Thanks, Hot Smoked and vfr800a8.

In other news CQN is delighted to publish Stephen Murray’s new book Kenny of the Celtic today. It’s available now from cqnbookstore.com

Thanks, so in effect they were hoping you would get fed up and go away so they could get on with the biz of getting the OF back up and running :-)

Cos at the end of the day, if they now realise that it’s not going to go away, and maybes they can see that the hun will implode again so they have now accepted, maybes, that fair and honest governance is for the best, I hope so.

Things may well be rosy presently, but as everything goes round in circles, resting on yer laurels is never a good idea.

Thanks for all the hard work, all of yous.

TET .. benter?! how about at least as bent? but Celtic aren’t party to that particular bentness….which is the sorts of mental gymnastics us nasty lawyers have to do every day…. and I have to do, in order to justify to myself how I can still watch the CL games! needs must!

I was hoping there would be something more specific. Being in the CL this year gives us greater fan exposure and money so it would be an opportune time to develop fan facilities around Celtic Park.

The café and museum should be the top two priorities, imho.

I suppose I’ll submit a question to the SLO in week two of this new initiative.

Tim Horton … never got bitten by the gawf bug, myself ….. and with a name like that …. surely, you have to include hockey … or are you more of a double-double Tim Hortons type?

tim horton … I am a great fan of SB as a person (seems like a good sort, and dealt with a lot of stuff with real class … he deserves respect for that), and as a captain (several coaches and the other players seem to love him, so there has to be some substance to the guy) … just less a fan of SB as a footballer ….

I would suggest Bialann Mhuire to commemorate our birthplace in November 1887 and the Gaelic heritage of Bro.Walfrid. HH

  19. H/T,

I was just left wondering how the ordinary supporter would be represented. Is there to be some kind of election as to who will be meeting officially with the Board? Will the Celtic Trust choose one or more of their members? Will the Association choose one or more of their members?

Good afternoon…could anyone tell me if tickets for the League cup final are available yet to season ticket holders who attended the Motherwell and Alloa matches…thank you.

  21. Parkheadcumsalford

The fine detail will be agreed at the first meeting, probably in April. The plan at the moment is that there will be representatives from all supporter groups (2 from each) as well as representatives from the wider support. How that will work is still to be agreed.

Tim H …. sorry … misunderstood. I haven’t watched an NFL game in a few years really. a few years ago, I went to Buffalo for a game, and had a blast at the tailgating party!
