CQN and Celtic Supporters Liaison

475

I’m having a preoccupied week, so Hot Smoked and vfr800a8 have kindly stepped forward with today’s article, and an initiative, which will hopefully establish a direct route for the blog to ask questions of the club.

This is from  Hot Smoked and vfr800a8, please support the initiative:

In 2004 Paul67 decided that something was needed to combat the distorted MSSM reporting on all things Celtic.  The result was the birth of CQN.

Like all good ideas, CQN has developed and now provides an outlet for discussions ranging from Independence to toasted cheese.  Nevertheless, the raison d`etre of the site remains the same i.e. as provision of a vehicle to inform on all matters Celtic from a less prejudiced view than that of the MSSM.  However, there are still issues that arise that could do with some direct input and clarification from Celtic.

With that in mind, we contacted John Paul Taylor, the Celtic Supporters Liaison Officer and after discussion he has agreed to host a weekly/fortnightly Q & A session at a set time on CQN.  He is also willing to do a Blog Q&A session on a regular basis if required; the frequency of the “regular basis” is yet to be defined so we will approach this flexibly.

If there are urgent issues that arise then we can approach John Paul to see if there is a possibility of a response prior to the scheduled meetings, though it is expected that this will only take place in exceptional circumstances.

Initially, to ensure that all areas of any given topic are covered, we would propose we tackle different sets of questions on separate weeks; for example:

Week 1 – Res 12 and “same club” issues

Week 2 – The stadium, fan experience and safety at other stadiums

Week 3 – Ticket allocation issues

Week 4 – Offensive Behaviour at Football Act

The questions and issues will be collated centrally on CQN and grouped to reflect the various views on the Blog.  We feel that this approach is unique to CQN and don’t think any other fan site has this opportunity so we must use it wisely.

It is envisaged that if those using CQN see this as being useful and beneficial that we start the meetings on Friday 18th November 2016, so we would finalise questions and issues by mid-day on tomorrow, 17th November to get them to John Paul.  Please send questions you would like to raise to competition@celticquicknews.co.uk and Liason in the subject line

So, let us know what you think and if the feedback is positive, we can get this off the ground!  If there are issues or questions you have on Res 12 and the same club myth please let us know by noon tomorrow by emailing competition@celticquicknews.co.uk

Thanks, Hot Smoked and vfr800a8.

In other news CQN is delighted to publish Stephen Murray’s new book Kenny of the Celtic today. It’s available now from cqnbookstore.com

That’s a fair point. I suppose mostly it’s about trusting those who will meet with Celtic.

There’s also talk of including two members of the general support at each meeting but how that will be organised is still to be ironed out.

  3. Oh …now you remember. ..

    Hour yer wheest,

No one was elected, I the resolution and selected the team I thought would represent the resolutions best interests.

Morrisey because he was not afraid of a bit of leg work and had good ideas on gathering support eventually dragging it over the line with his efforts in collecting signatories, about 170 odd if I’m no mistaken so

Auldheid and BRTH for their knowledge base, provide diplomacy and balance out the animosity directed at myself, lend a bit of legitimacy if you like, to counter the small minds that tried to turn it into a personality battle.

Everyone’s shareholding status was known from day one and is irrelevant and I’m happy for kill ultra to check anything he wants as I’m sure the guys are too, it’s not important.

  8. As a shareholder I want my privacy protected and dont want it shared with anyone who thinks they should have my details for their own purposes. I think its called data protection.

Entertaining to see the re-emergence of the res 12 saboteurs at this crucial time. Attention seekers, misguided Tims, dissenting Tims, Level 5 puppets or Scottish Sports “journalists”. You make your own mind up on that.

The intention was to start this around 3 weeks ago but other commitments from those involved meant that it couldn’t happen till this week.

The timing is absolutely co-incidental, and in some ways, this makes it unfortunate!

I would be in the other camp, can’t beat knowing what your enemy’s are up to, at the end of the day we really shouldn’t be worried either way.

I have never known any supporter of an english team moaning about the FA being bias towards any team, but we are where we are, sadly money is what it’s all about today, integrity and fairness play a distant second.

You need to order from Companies House (£1) the last annual return which includes the full list of members. Make sure the order box has ‘Include allotment of shares’ at the top.

Good response. As the original instigator of Res12 (2013) you had every right to progress matters after the adjournment.

If the resolution had proceeded to a vote in 2013 and the unconvinced Board voted it down what was the gain?? Yes, we could all have whinged against an out of touch, supercilious Board and those wishing to push the resolution to a defeat could appear more virtuous than Caesar’s wife but we would not have the facts which we now have, IMHO. In retrospect the correct decision was taken and due to the persistence of you ghuys we have the opportunity to get to the truth and expose the malfeasance of the governing body. Kudos to you all. Kill ultra has had a personal problem with Auldheid and BRTH and basically told me not to trust them IMO trying to sew suspicion and create division from very early in the process.

I thanked him for his good wishes and bid him farewell, never heard from him again until he turned up demanding access to out financial arrangements.

  14. VFR, @ 7.30pm

    Thanks for that.

Fair play on your initiative and I hope it is the start of better things in respect of communications in the future.

Will private Shareholders/Season Book holders have any means of registering to vote?

We’ve approximately 50,000 (?) SB holders for example it would be beneficial to involve them in the process?

  15. Canamalar, cheers for that, still not sure I want other people to have access to my info. Good luck with the resolution and don’t let the dissenters get to you.

I would hope the Company Secretary would resist any request for access to the shareholder register.

For (what should be) obvious reasons.

  17. Indulge Me ?

I’m just wondering if there’s a ” connection” , given just some of ” chain of events ” surrounding res 12 and the aftermath of the Scottish Cup Final ?

Oldco ask for more time to pay tax to hmrc ?

Oldco apply for the licence from the SFA, who are aware that oldco have been granted more time ?

SFA grant the licence after ” verbal and/or written” assurances given by oldco that they will pay hmrc ?

    Oldco obtain the licence.

Oldco then default ( deliberately ?) on the agreement with hmrc ?

Oldco then advise SFA that they didn’t pay hmrc ?

SFA are raging with oldco for not keeping to the agreement with hmrc, as the licence was only given due to ” assurances” ?

SFA further angry with oldco as this now means that SFA have been ” implicated” ?

The Nimmo inquiry due to commence ?

SFA and oldco decided to keep their mouths shut, and NOT provide Nimmo of the earlier ” chain of events” ?

SFA and oldco hoping that noone will find out, that that the SFA KNEW that oldco were NOT entitled to the licence PRIOR to Nimmo inquiry ?

Fast forward to Scottish Cup Final,

Sevco demand that the sfa ensure Hibs are punished for pitch invasion ( barred from Scottish Cup for a season or two ?)

Sevco demand that Hibs director , Petrie is sacked from his job with SFA due to his comments that the Hib’s fans invasion was merely ” over exuberance”, whilst Sevco players and staff attached ?

SFA STILL raging with oldco/Sevco decide to teach them a lesson for dropping the SFA in it years previously , ” investigate” and take no action against Sevco and Hibs fans ?

At the outset in 2011 oldco dropped themselves in it,but the SFA also dropped themselves in it by issuing the licence only on the ” verbal/written” word of oldco that the tax bill of £2.8 million WOULD be paid, therefore IF it became public both parties could claim that the licence criteria HAD been met, albeit AFTER the licence was issued, so what’s the problem ?

The problem of course is that amongst other things, the evidence that oldco did indeed STILL have the tax liabilities, was deliberately withheld from Nimmos inquiry ?

Especially since the Scottish Cup Final and the SFAs refusal to punish Hibs ( and not punish Sevco either), Sevco in their statements and their fans anger with the SFA maybe can’t see that this was the SFAs way in getting back at oldco/Sevco ( same club) for dropping the SFA in it previously ?

Is there a ” connection” between oldco making matters worse for the SFA in 2011, and the SFA taking a ” cop out” stance over Hibs and Rod Petries statement ?

In effect, the SFA are STILL raging with ” them”, and decided to somehow get their own back to some degree in 2016 ?

Just to add, the SFA themselves ” dropped themselves in it”, when appearing just to take oldcos ” word” that the tax bill would be paid albeit later ?

I would love to be a fly on the wall ” if or when”, the dead club are asked ,

” Right then, you obtained millions in CL money that you knew you were not entitled to, so instead of using some of that I’ll gotten money to pay the wee tax bill and possibly some other debts, what did you do with those millions” ?

” Them”, ” we continued to buy players with money that wasn’t ours, paying sky high wages with money that wasn’t ours, paid EBTs that are not liable for tax as they are not ” wages” but bonuses, and paid out sky high wages and bonuses to directors and such like” .

Now I don’t know if that was some of the ” chain of events” and/or collisions that occurred between oldco and the SFA ?

I don’t know if that’s why the SFA took the stance they did in the aftermath if the cup final ?

Maybe there is no connection ?

I would suggest however, that if the above is remotely near to the ” chain of events” between oldco and the SFA, then Celtic and the fans AND the other Scottish clubs and their fans MUST do whatever it takes to bring both the SFA and ” them” to book ?

Does anyone agree/ disagree of the possible ” connection” that I have suggested ?

    HH

  18. I see both the Constant Fat Gardener ( for life) & the Cardigan were rolled out today to give there views on the way forward for Scottish football, Cardigans vision was for Sevco to spend more money & Tending weeds was to bring in 74 year old Alec Ferguson.I think this is bloody hilarious I nearly wet mysl;f I’m sure something else was happening today for this utter nonsense to even see daylight

  19. Doubt that EUFA are arsed about the probable blind eye by the SFA and the granting of license to the dead club to play in Europe. That is their position, and don’t bother us as it’s up to the other Scottish clubs to somehow bring the SFA to account.

  20. On a day when, once again, Celtic say absolutely nothing of any substance whatsoever (despite being told their would be a statement) it is a sad sad indictment of CQN where there is little to no discussion about it. Instead the same old squirrels are trotted out about the Huns etc etc.

It only takes good men/women to do nothing for evil to succeed.

Credit to the Res 12 bhoys forcing UEFA to consider the matter and reveal the lies. Whether it or any other body chooses to do nothing at least the spotlight is on them and exposes any hypocrisy.

What crazy dream is that you’ve had regarding a cup final against HIbs. You must be mistaken. That game never happened. If it had then surely the result would have been shown on Rangers* own official website alongside every other result from that season. if you check the FACTS you will clearly see that their last game in 2015-16 was a 1-0 defeat to Livingston on 26 April.

Making up scurrilous rumours about a cup final, with trouble afterwards. Never happened I tell ya!
