377

The 14th annual CQN Open Charity Golf Day will take place at Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 29 June. I you would like to attend, please contact Taggsybhoy/Blantyrekev at cqnopen2018@outlook.com before Saturday 7 April.

The day will comprise of a round of golf at the beautiful Aberdour GC, followed by food and entertainment at the newly refurbished Woodside Hotel, Aberdour. Cost for the full event is £80 (inc evening meal) and £40 for night time.  Speakers, entertainment and good cause recipients to be confirmed. There are discounted rates for CQN’ers at the hotel that night and discounted golf subsequently at Aberdour Golf Club and at the very attractive Burntisland Golf Club. Contact reception@thewoodsidehotel.co.uk if you are interested.

This is always a great day with a fantastic group of CQN’ers.  I look forward to seeing you then.

Great gesture by Scott Brown to donate his Testimonial Game proceeds to various charities, including Liam Miller’s bereaved family.  Let’s hope there are three trophies paraded before kick off that afternoon.

Have always supported Scotland. Tonight I will watch them like I would watch a Hungary v Wales game.

I said yesterday that it MIGHT be rhyming slang for Ben Gunn (Hun ).

  3. I can totally understand why loads of supporters no longer have any interest in the national team and so are of a “don’t care” attitude towards tonight’s game. But I still don’t understand why folk would want Scotland to lose.

So, on that note, it’s Mon the Scotland… Had to be said ;-) ;-)

By the way, all things being equal I wonder whether any of the 4 Celtic starters were likely to be in Saturday’s starting 11. I think we could all name a very strong Celtic line up even without any of tonight’s 4.

That Green, white and orange suggestion, if it came to fruition, would be fantastic.

DD & Jobo Baldie I have always watched them as well and wanted them to win, but this latest debacle with EBT MCLeish is a step too far…

I would guess the wanting Scotland to lose feeling comes from the SFA`s behaviour and their appointment of EBT McLeish. I would imagine that many who feel like this still like to see most Scottish Sportspeople, Andy Murray,Laura Muir for instance, winning.

Our generation probably needs a dictionary of 21st century sayings, so that we can better understand our young ‘uns.

e.g. for ‘cooncil’ , read ‘Corporation’.

Whatever happened to the Green, white and Gold corporation buses??

They were great number 64 to paradise…

  10. I feel “hopelessly conflicted” about this game tonight. Obviously, I’m hoping that the Celtic lads all do well, but my hope is that Scotland lose all 4 friendlies and McLeish is out on his erse by Christmas.

Just watched his presser. How in he’ll did he pass an interview?

I wonder how many of the Tartan Army in a referendum would have voted to replace WGS with this fud!

I know and understand where you are coming from. Think he is a rotten manager too. Don’t start me on Peter Grant as a coach either.

  12. David66 and Hot Smoked –

The EBT debacle and general governance issues at the SFA hugely disturb me. So no support to SFA cup comps and internationals. However, just as I still want Celtic to win their cup games, I also want the Scotland TEAM to win theirs. But not something that I’m trying to talk anyone else into thinking.

  13. used to love watching scotland play why not im scottish, sadly not anymore, it hurts really, the country of your birth does not like you because of what school you went to, according to them i should go home the famine is over, really sorry ghuys cant put it into words how i feel. the dark blue colours of my country mean nothing to me now. at least supporting the republic ill be supporting my great grandparents team, okay i suppose im a traitor to my country but my country does not want me sorry for the ramble.

Loved those buses. My Auntie was a conductress on them . I loved getting on her bus because it meant I could save the fare for sweeties.

  17. Just heard them playing Flower of Scotland and wondered if it made the Celtic players make a subliminal ( and very unfavourable) comparison with YNWA at Celtic Park.

    Cheerio for now,

  18. In a move that has surprised this old man the BBC are showing the score at the top of the screen as HUN – SCO!

    Mon the Yellows!

The Falkland islanders were called Bennies, after the Crossroads character ( not the amphetamines)

When word got out that this was rude and churlish the squaddies stationed there started calling them ‘Stills’, as they were…

I’m quite happy to call the H¥NS the Stills, if it eases their pain.
