The 14th annual CQN Open Charity Golf Day will take place at Aberdour Golf Club on Friday 29 June. I you would like to attend, please contact Taggsybhoy/Blantyrekev at cqnopen2018@outlook.com before Saturday 7 April.

The day will comprise of a round of golf at the beautiful Aberdour GC, followed by food and entertainment at the newly refurbished Woodside Hotel, Aberdour. Cost for the full event is £80 (inc evening meal) and £40 for night time.  Speakers, entertainment and good cause recipients to be confirmed. There are discounted rates for CQN’ers at the hotel that night and discounted golf subsequently at Aberdour Golf Club and at the very attractive Burntisland Golf Club. Contact reception@thewoodsidehotel.co.uk if you are interested.

This is always a great day with a fantastic group of CQN’ers.  I look forward to seeing you then.

Great gesture by Scott Brown to donate his Testimonial Game proceeds to various charities, including Liam Miller’s bereaved family.  Let’s hope there are three trophies paraded before kick off that afternoon.

  1. DD agreed about McGinn, I think he would get better with experience at this level and if we did sign him, playing with better players would surely improve him as well.

Thought our bhoys did pretty well tonight. Callum probably the pick, despite a lack of movement ahead of him. Wonder if Gordy might still be in the job if he had picked him….?

What did you think of McGinn in the 2-2 draw at Celtic Park earlier in the season?

I am maybe a bit biased cause I have watched him develop fae schoolboy level in Clydebank.

Tontine Tim, thanks for that breakdown of Andy’s early career with us.

I was at the Scottish cup game at Boghead . The last game I was at with my dad and my Uncle Jim.

*Me tae with my da, this was the ground he would sneak intae as a boy living in Silverton and the same one he took me tae for the Charlie Tully show when we opened their floodlights.

Thought McGinn offered the graft and aggression that allowed Stuart and Calmac to play their game.

Agree, would offer us something we don’t have and would improve greatly playing with better players.

  6. What is the Stars on

Maybe McGinn would be a better player in a better team with better players around him.

I wouldn’t mind him signing for Celtic at all.

Put Scott Brown in the Ross county team and he mightnt look great. No one to take passes from him,no one making runs,no one on the same wavelength.

So moral of the story is sell Scott Brown to Ross County and buy McGinn and use whats leftover to pay for Tierneys train to Manchester

He was decent but our midfield (minus Brown) were shocking that day. Wee McGregor scored 2 that day as well.

McGregor, for me is a better player and more versatile. Compare first touches and the ability to play a telling ball. McGregor every time.

Who would he replace in our team – and don’t say Brown because Brendan Rodgers has said several times that Eboue Kouassi has been bought to replace Brown?

  8. McLeish is in charge to pick hun non entities to get them caps so Murtinho can bleat about his capped players in the media so that the huns can feel relevant.

    I thought this was obvious…

  9. Guys James Forrest has played 60 games this season wtf…

    How does that work out??

    D :)

  10. It’s not a guarantee that John McGinn would improve at Celtic. Many players before him have struggled to deal with the pressure and expectation amongst other things. A couple of bad games and he could fall of the planet. At £3m plus it’s a no from me.

I’ve posted previously how I was brought up to always support Scots at whatever sport they were participating in but I just can’t accept this corrupt appointment as head coach of Scotland’s football team. This is a step to far the guy is a serial failure who would never made any shortlist based on his achievements in the game.

*My da always supported Ireland, both sides of the border, as that was where his parents came fae and he holidayed there so had no allegiance tae the country of his birth. So although I didnae really support the national side I didnae wish them any ill luck, didnae care actually.

The fact that he actually abandoned his country previously should has been the deciding factor in his never ever being considered for the post.

*absolutely but it isnae cricket so no one cares.

*Watching 2 really good teams here, Spain v Argies, dearie me

As you know it is a squad game. I would imagine Kouassi and McGinn would battle for the same position. That is the Broonie role.

The price for McGinn would be £4m to £5M. Too much for me. More than Sinclair or Ntcham?

    Nah.

  14. Itsthemalvinas,

I think “Bennys” is from the Crossroads series, and the character in that show. Probably meant to be a derogatory term for ‘a group of peepil’…

Watching Spain v Argies as well, good game, 1 thing that sticks out (apart from the good football), for me is at free kicks the wall is actually 10 yards back instead of the 6 against Celtic

At anything over £2.5m for McGinn, I would agree with you. No way is he a £5m player yet.

Is the table booked for Saturday?

  17. Eddie: Good to see you posting. Myself and R plan to come over for the last Soft Loans Co. game. It would be great to meet up again.

  18. !!Bada Bing!! on

A bhoy said Forrest had 60 games this season, with about a dozen still to come, we need a big squad , McGinn would be required IMO, Broonie will need rested if we want another couple of seasons from him.

Lewis MacLeod never seems to get a mention these days, funnily enough…..

*ruined Paul George’s career that durty bassa .

When looking at the national side with Jamesie and Calum in it I thought about the famed bader park conveyor belt and wondered what happened to them.

Apart from the thug above what happened tae the 6 million pound Leipzig man, aird, crawford, mitchell, brighton, cole, duffy, fleckeldhino, mccabe, mcmillan, ness, perry, the Kirkintilloch Express wylde, furman, loy, etc. The only one of note that came out of there was young Dylan who only became a player when he came over tae us.
