CQN Golf Open 2016

The 12th annual CQN Open Golf Day will take place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife on Friday 29 July. Our annual trip to Aberdour is always a fantastic day. Those who play golf (not me) enjoy the stunning Fife course, while we all participate in an evening’s entertainment and chat.

The day is always fully subscribed, so if you want to attend, please email Taggsybhoy at cqnopen2016@gmx.co.uk . Cost for the full day’s golf and evening meal is £80. There are a limited number of dinner and evening-only places available at a cost of £45.

We’ve raised tens of thousands of pounds for good causes far and wide over the previous 11 events, and enjoyed some great times. See you there.

Aberdeen’s visit to Fir Park on Saturday looked like a stiff test on paper before news broke that the Motherwell squad has been devastated by a virus, which has forced the club to cancel training this week. There’s little Celtic can do about that short of extending their lead to four points earlier tomorrow afternoon with their visit to Rugby Park.

Kilmarnock are marooned in the play-off position: 8 points from bottom, and five from Inverness and Hamilton above them. They’ve scored only once in their last four home games but have the curious claim to be unbeaten by Celtic this season.

We looked sloppy on our first trip to Rugby Park in the autumn and impotent when we faced them at Celtic Park. Kilmarnock would perhaps suggest they simply figured out how to frustrate us. They’re not alone with that belief.

I was concerned about last week’s game against Thistle and Kilmarnock tomorrow. Our next outing, in two weeks against Hearts, will take care of itself, the adrenaline will pump for that one, but we need to create our own intensity away to teams in the bottom half of the table.

We didn’t turn in a classic performance last week but, straight from the off, it was clear we were sharper than at any point since thumping Hamilton two months ago. A focus returned to the squad (as did a Commons and a Bitton). With the large uptake of tickets by Celtic fans I expect our edge to be evident from the start.

Have to disagree with you mate. It is amazing business to get punters to part with their cash and not to see any product.

If punters do not part with their cash then that is poor business.

Insurrection is well worth watching. It was made in 1966 to celebrate the 50th anniversary. It’s done it 8 nightly half hour episodes which take the form of news reports as if the events were happening now ( well now as in 1966) this is the first time in 50 years rte have had the courage to re show it

The squandering of money on sub-standard strikers is embarrassing and has practically outweighed the money made from the buy and sell at a profit doctrine in usage.

That’s true to an extent though we’re still well in profit, and the reason crowds are down is due to many reasons including ‘ the cheating ‘.

We’ll never know the numbers as Celtic are very guarded on releasing ST sales.

There are manoeuvres within sections of the ground, relocations in 109 – 122 ,safe standing, and the general influx of some ( but not too many IMHO of ‘old firm’ supporters )

But overall the can’t be **s*d brigade has never been bigger, and won’t magically come back.

The board are presiding over a myriad of reasons why there is far less than 30k for league games, we’ll see if they have any solutions, – personally I doubt it, and they’ll batten down the hatches.

Guid to have the feedback, mate. My thoughts are that if we cave,we cave for good.

Someday, oneday, the Celtic support need to say that is enough.

We are fed up with being lied to.

And we are fed up having the pish ripped right of us.

I see your point, to me that is not good business, it’s fleecing your customers and word will be passed around not to deal with the supplier again.

Anyways, switching over to corrie, atleast that soap opera still has some credibility. HH

Non-scoring strikers…..bhoy playing for Wisla in Poland right now on a hattrick Brozek ? Not sure if it’s our Pavel, but probably is

Remember the days we had strikers scoring but didn’t win things and never had a decent goalie, now we have great goalies and just our Leigh……

  10. Just tried again, hoping the initial starting numbers are correct

Was passed onto me through BT who got it from Twists

If doesn’t work this time I will drop BT a text and try doing in reverse with my number being passed to yourself :-)

Someone posted earlier on about the Celtic supporters he works with not knowing about res 12, (sorry bit I can’t mind who) my work is the same.

I was on the phone earlier to my wee mate that has a table in the number seven and explained it to him. I’m sure I heard him yawning.

As far as he is concerned the Sooner a Zombie appears the better…good for business.

To be honest, I can relate to what he says as the lounges are more than half empty, whereas they were always practically full.

I posted yesterday that Celtic Park… Naw parkheid will be a lot busier next season and we both know why…it’s our culture…like it or not.

Not that I like it but that is the way a lot of our support look at it. HH

  12. No matter what I think of the manager THE smsm have been a disgrace this week trying to fill our manager’s position. My mind wanders back to the happy days of the McCoist reign in Govan…more ellipsis should be added for the happier times…any mention of a replacement was shot down in BBC flames (I don’t listen to the other crap) and the the word ‘disrespectful’ was heard long into the night.

We have a manager huns…and a double awaits. Enjoy your stirring but we will be right in your faces.

Say something that I can disagree with! Watershed is a word that seems appropriate.

Trouble is I have no idea how typical CQNers are of the Celtic support. If it is, and the club does nothing at all in the current situation, I fear we shall really see life in the slow lane.

Off for a Rioja or a Chianti, probably the latter!

Well the tribute act could be up four or five nothing but its only two nil but in the first half there has only been one team in it and unfotunately its not Falkirk. H.H.

  15. I’m not big on the betting stakes but I couldn’t resist putting a very small wager on Tully East @ 50/1 in the 16:50 in Cheltenham. Placed 4th – result. :-)

This time last week I was suggesting a leaflet handout at the next game at Paradise regarding Resolution 12 – you either take people with you or you don’t. No wonder most people outside of CQN have no idea about Resolution 12, but hey that’s life.

Now losing interest in the whole shebang – sick of watching a game run by cheats for cheats. To be honest the corporal huns died whilst the soul of our club is rapidly becoming moribund.

CQNers , by virtue of being on here and reading alternative views, are far better informed than the majority of Celtic supporters. They are not typical at all of the Celtic support. The Celtic support have barely heard of Resolution 12 and that same support do want `Rangers` `back`

I do not have an ounce of evidence to support my view based which is based solely on personal experience. The MSSM is not as ineffective as so many like to think.

Some laughable guff from the Scottish media about Ronny. Still no point in getting rid of him. Isn’t his fault our board sell everyone.

  18. POG…

You never give up, get disheartened aye but don’t give in, or the bassas win.

On a side note to put things into perspective… Mate from the work came in to hand in his sick line yesterday, (terminal cancer) he was telling me how he always got a text from the girl in personnel to let him know. Unbeknown to him she handed her notice in due to the redundancies and found it to hard to deal with.

The bitch that is in there now never contacted him and he was a bag of nerves incase they stopped his sick pay.

To be honest, I had a tear in my eye as he told me every day is bonus he sees his daughter.

Infact, I have one as I type.
