CQN TV on Celtic, Champions League and G.o.D.

466

This is our second CQN TV stint where Glasgow’s hottest model and TV presenter Nicole and social media masters’ student, Suzie, ask me about the season ahead Celtic and our Champions League chances.  I also get a great question about the Generation of Domination, which I’ve not written much about here recently, but you’d better believe it’s coming.

It was great fun talking about Our Celtic, hope you enjoy it.

  1. It must have been 2 month ago that I suggested that if there was an unseen plan to avoid civil unrest then the Glasgow Fair Fortnight would be a good time to nail down the coffin lid – to be honest I expected it to be all over by now but this prediction now seems to have some merit

The rules that Auldheid has highlighted appear fairly cut and dry to me – SFL3 is the highest league they could possibly be allowed into – when this becomes clear Green will have to implement Plan C which will certainly not involve him or his associates running their own diddy football team for many years – investment into Sevco Scotland will dry up and the wages won’t get paid – assets will be sold and there will be nothing left to cling on to by the end of July

So, there used to be a rule but it is now ignored? Is that about the strength of it?

    Dear Mr Regan

If NewCo are admitted to division one next season and their promotion to the SPL could be secured by the SFA’s referees and assistants choosing not to apply the rules of football in a fair and impartial way, is that something you would:

    (a) condemn

    (b) condone, or

    (c) command?

If (a), given your own decision not to apply the rules of the SFA in a fair and impartial way you are a hypocrite and should resign now “for the good of Scottish football”.

If b) you should resign now for the good of Scottish football.

If c) even you must see that you should resign now for the good of Scottish football.

    Couple of layman questions :

What are the timescales for the former RFC(IA) being fully liquidated and BDO displacing Duff & Duffer?

Do BDO have the power to freeze the assets if they believe that they’ve been ‘sold’ too cheaply?

I really can’t see the Newco playing anywhere for a year, no matter what the SFL vote is.

Think BDO move in Tuesday. Lots of good stuff on RTC. Seems that BDO can negate the ,5.5 million takeover by Green in law. Doubtless they’ve been on the case for weeks just waiting to jump in.

  15. Excellent statement from the Hibs fans.

The SFA’s role in this has been disgraceful.

If the SFL clubs are railroaded into elevating Sevco into Div 1 fans of all clubs – ALL CLUBS – should commit to a full and total boycott of the Scottish Cup this season.

It’s truly awful that it’s come to this.

Various things I’ve read say BDO move in on the 10th July. Paul McC says they could challenge the sale in the courts due to the cheap price, especially as a Sevco director said in an open meeting the assests were ‘worth £50m on a bad day.”

This will run for years much to the delight of the lawyers and many of us.

My understanding is that a club needs to be able to prove they have a sound financial ‘footing’ before their application would be accepted, let alone approved ….. and the criteria is 3 years audited accounts, for financial vetting …….which rules sevco out …… But what does that matter to the SFA…….. They’ve ignored every other rule ….. Silly billies

There are no timescales for the dead club being fully liquidated. There never is when any business is placed into liquidation. However, BDO will take over in the very near future from D&P. The latter have only be afforded time to finish what they did not start!

BDO cannot freeze the assets. However, they can challenge the amount for which they were sold through the Courts. I suspect that this may well indeed be done. I am almost certain that shortly after 14th February 2012, HMRC will have carried out their own valuations on the assets. If the Courts were to agree with BDO’s valuations, if indeed they went to Court; there are a couple of scenarios for sure, perhaps more. However, the two I am told could happen are: The purchaser (in this case Mr. Green) would pay the difference or the assets are handed back to the Insolvency Practitioner (in this case BDO).

I suspect the dead club will play some where next season but you raise two very relevant points my friend.

  31. Auldheid @ 1900

Thanks for the clarity on the rules.

The stitch up is in place for Friday 13th ; with a yes vote for motions 1 and 2 the SFA and the SPL will negotiate with the SFL Board for the conditions to allow Sevco into SFL1. All 3 parties want it to happen , represented by Regan, Doncaster and Longmuir.

To block it the SFL clubs can vote No for Motion 1 or Motion 2. The SFL clubs will vote yes for motion 1 to allow Sevco into SFL. Motion 2 is carefully worded about to trap SFL clubs and hand the decision of which division over to SFL board. I fully expect Options 1 and 2 to be passed and the stitch up to be played out.

To stop it there are 3 ways :

    1. FIFA rules are followed and Regan is brought to task and stopped in his tracks about break the rules of the governing body to save one club.

    2. SPL clubs tell Doncaster he has no mandate to attend the meeting. SFA and Regan must be left on their own to break the rules. It would be judicious if Celtic were to remind the SFA of their own rules in private.

    3. Mr Turnball Hutton leads a grassroots revolt and ensure there is No vote until there is clarity on FIFA rules in writing from Mr Ogilvie and Mr Regan approved by FIFA.

SPL expulsion for the tax evaders and cheats has been achieved. Having the SFA apply their own rules to the detriment of this one club will be a huge challenge. For whatever reason Regan has compromised his position and himself to aid one club. Ogilvie as a shareholder in RFCIA and EBT beneficiarry I can understand…Regan I cannot.

What has happened so far will not impact Celtic financially , however it will affect other SPL clubs. However Sevco in SFL3 would affect Celtic financially in 2 years time ( although CL qualification could make it redundant). If Celtic really want to take a strong sporting integrity stand they would use all their weight to push Sevco to SFL3.

Doncasters job mus be discussed in the various SPL boardrooms and how as their representative and CEO , his chaotic blundering approach has created more problems than anything. Celtic and the other SPL clubs need him to return to base as the final scenes in the drama are played out.

Friday the 13th how apt Mr Regan!

Maybe the SPL and SFA could reform as follows: re-name themselves the Sevco Premier League and the Sevco Football Association, membership comprising Sevco’s football team. All voting to be decided on a ‘one club, one vote’ system, that club being Sevco. The winner of the one-team league would progress each season directly to the final of the Sevco Champions’ League, where, being the only competitor, they would be awarded a win each season. A Sevco world championship could be developed along the same lines.

Meanwhile, an alternative league structure could be set up, comprising the reject clubs – Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen etc from the old SPL, along with a ragtag mixture of Diddies and Muppets, who would form their own ‘breakaway’ league, playing against each other in three or four divisions. There would be relegation and promotion between divisions, and the very top teams each season would progress to playoffs against the cream of the other European Diddy leagues for entry to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions’ League. Each would take their chances of success or failure in the traditional manner.

And everybody would be happy, no? Sevco end up with a strip comprising only of stars after a few seasons, and everybody else can just get on with playing football.
