    re sevco being confident

Why shouldn’t they be, they’re ilk have had there own way for far too many years in the Scottish game ,they are the peepil after all and if the clowns in our game allow the dead clubs spawn into our game ,at all .let alone div 3 then they will have been proved right again .Things will be done for them that would not be done for any other member club in Scotland and why ,MONEY ,they don’t have any ,it’s for WHO they are pure and simple .

When everyone keeps proving that they are a special case ,can we really blame the sheep that follow follow them when they spout their elitist diatribe

I read something the other day that said Clyde and others had, or were going to be requesting more information from the SFA, obviously it’s your info ie this Licence/Membership business and they’re looking for clarity before the vote.

Regan and Doncaster more and more look like the puppets with Ogilvies mits controlling them, this kind of dishonest manipulation and abuse of power makes me sick. I hope the SFL vote them down tomorrow and the SFA blazers are drawn out into the open instead of inhabiting the shadows.

The thought of Cosmic Irony being in abundance as the end game approaches sets the pulse a quickening :)

There are many contributors on this blog but do yourself a favour and take the compliment, you will be the main reason Clyde and others are aware of this licencing business, i really do admire your indefatigability.

Friday the 13th the day the SFL told Sevco and the SFA to go to hell.

  3. Paul can you confirm the reports that ki’s fee to QPR is being misinformed in the media and due to the commercial scope the deal is the first to hit £10m in Scotland?

If so that is some business by PL

Re the issue of compensation for Walter walking away from Scotland in Jan 2007.

I have always been suspicious whether any compensation was actually paid.

The SFA in the person of David Taylor suggested that they would take legal action if Smith walked out.

There was very little coverage in the press of the issue then suddenly Taylor announced that an agreement had been reached and that wa sthe end of the matter. He did not quote a settlement figure.

Reports suggested that a figure “believed to be in the region of £400000 had been agreed.”

That was in mid Janaury 2007 and within six weeks Taylor was on his way to UEFA and replaced at the SFA by Gordon Smith.

I have copies of both the SFA and Rangers accounts for 2007 and 2008 and can see no reference in any of them to a compensation payment.

A few months ago I asked Mr Regan (via his favourite medium – twitter) and in his capacity as chief executive of the SFA if he could confirm whether any compensation had been paid.

His eventually replied…”haven’t a clue…. before my time”

I have posed the question again in writing and wait a reply.

  7. Joe McBride R.I.P

I was unable to post my condolences (on the previous blog) to his family and friends – and to those of us Celtic Supporters that enjoyed that cameo period in 1966 – my thoughts:

For the younger Bhoys (we were teenagers – perhaps a forerunner of the GB) – his introduction to the Team was spectacular! He arrived and heralded an awakening: pass, pace, a bit of dribbling (from Jinky), a cross – end product – the ball hits the back of the net!

Was he good? I always compare him to “der bomber” (Muller) – strong, compact, hard and lethal in front of goal. I had the privilege of watching him score the majority of his goals during his short career with us – he was a catalyst to our 9-in-a-row and deserves to be remembered as a truly great Lion!

Funnily enough (reading the many posts) – the game where I remember him most was mid-week at Easter Road playing for the Hibs. He gave his big pal (our Billy) a roasting that night – scoring twice.

Met him on a number of occasions: 25th Lisbon Anniversary Dinner – didn’t see him till the 40th – and the conversation about Celtic was no different (15 years later) to the one you might have had with your pals about the game, the night before in the pub.

    A true Celt – a Lion – a Supporter and a Gentleman.

    Joe McBride – God Bless!

  10. if, and its a big if, the sfl clubs vote newco into division 3 their sfl rep cannot go to a meeting with the sfa and give the go ahead for sfl 1 entry. he puts forward sfl clubs views his remit is not to make decisions for the clubs.

simple, should the clubs wish to say no to newco

  11. Gordon Smith – this man was once CEO of the SFA. Officially the leader of the game in Scotland.

    What an embarrassment.

  12. So sorry to hear of the passing of Joe McBride. True gentleman. RIP. I have many fond memories of Joe starting with him scoring 2 goals v Celtic at Hampden, Celtic signed him shortly after. He went on to become a legend. I would compare him with McGrory, a natural goalscorer, good looking and only 2 caps for Scotland.

Met him on a few occasions (6 years ago), once I asked him to say a few words before our U15 playing against a Donegal team SFAI cup, which he gladly did. After winning the game we went back to the Clan Ri in Letterkenny to thank him and we had pics taken on the wide stairs with him and several other Lisbon Lions.

A few years ago attended his tribute dinner organised by a friend with A. Ferguson as guest speaker ( Man U. playing in Champions league next evening). No better tribute could he pay than say ” if you want to know what kind of man Joe McBride is that you only have to look at his family”, and he pointed to where they were sitting. So true, what lovely people. You were a great, modest man and your family will take great comfort knowing that. God Bless you, and thanks for the many happy memories.

  13. Scottish fans have rejected “newco into SPL” and it looks like they have also rejected “ newco into D1” . I think entry to D3 is generous given that they have no accounts, no squad and no history.

I hope that Celtic FC and others are building a dossier of evidence on how the various “authorities” are bending over backward and ignoring their own regulations in order to accommodate these crooks.

Once all their wheeler dealing has failed, it needs a dossier of evidence to UEFA and FIFA (both obviously corrupt of course) to show how the SFA and the SPL have broken or ignored their own regulations in order to accommodate the RFC crooks.

Most of the SPL and SFL clubs are speaking out as never before. It is time for a legal challenge against the SFA and the SPL. Their only response so far has been to protect the Ibrox crooks despite what the majority say they want.

The SFA in particular have lost all credibility. How can they ever fine anyone for bringing the game into disrepute??

Is it time for a coordinated rebellion by all Scottish clubs against this assumption that the ba’ is on the slates without that mob?

It reminds me of the standard response that we can’t upset the bankers in case they leave – I’d take a chance on that. How about you??

  14. Archie MacPherson – clearly lost it. Looks like a drunk at throwing out time in Tennants.

  15. Smudger –

a permanent embarrasment and occasional disgrace……………….

  16. Jeez, STV is a mess. Astonishing that they could miss the point by so much. MacPherson is totally away with the fairies – clearly still thinks its 1980. Smith – what can you say, an appalling, low-life, snake… Has mentioned Celtic twice already.

Only Alex Thomson talking any sense.

  17. Alex Thomson looks like he realises he has walked into a madhouse.

I cringe for Scotland sometimes, I really do…

    Hail Hail

  20. Senor Pablo Diablo on

Even the presence of Alex Thomson can’t save STV from being as awful as normal. Why did I bother watching it?

Gordon Smith talking about DeadCo’s contribution to the economy. Which is of course the theft of tens of millions of pounds from the taxpayer to line the pockets of the likes of Ronald Waterreus.

  21. Gordon Smith!

Did you personally pay back your PAYE? “Oh yeah, Rangers bring loads into the economy!”

What he didn’t say “Aye, that’s right and I’ll personally pay back the missing £150 million lost to the economy”
