CQN Vanessa Riddle Fundraiser

1180

I’m enjoying the chat as much as anyone these days but I know you all remember what were really about as a club.  We have an update on the CQN Vanessa Riddle pop quiz fundraiser which will be held at Jury’s hotel, Glasgow on the evening of Saturday February 11.

The great news is that Frank O’Hagan has agreed to come along and do a set to close the quiz off. Frank’s third CD – Green Light to Freedom – will be mixed and mastered in the studio over the next month. Frank is also doing a concert with his band in the Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross on Saturday 18th February. Details are on Frank’s website web. Frank is a top class musician is a terrific live performer. He is also a lovely guy, so we’re just absolutely over the moon to have Frank along. Our good friends at Carling are donating some prizes too, which is also excellent news.

We have some spaces left so if you want to come along, visit Taggsybhoy’s music quiz homepage and contact him with your team name and numbers (max of 6 to a  team). He will let you know if you are successful. It is first come, first served. Vanessa Riddle Appeal

I’m off to contemplate the false value of cheap laptop hard disks. One day lost and counting, damn you HP!

some of his selections last year made me wonder :o)

  4. how I wish my late grandfather and steve pablophanque would have been able to witness the administration of RFC cant see how rangers can survive this mess especially if they have been operating illegal tax schemes for more than a decade

    Paul67,

asked yesterday, why the go at the strike force, I dont think they are clowns or jokers, so why the abbot and costello tag

  7. It’s just dawned on me that our cup final next month is probably being sponsored by the ‘Gers!

The Scottish Communities League Cup 2011 – 2012

The Cup campaign will use cash seized from criminals to encourage positive behaviour and stronger communities, promoting respect, responsibility and tolerance to football fans and families throughout Scotland.

  9. corrib04 is Neil Lennon says:

    2 February, 2012 at 11:50

    ‘Starry, Bunbury,thanks.

Ernie, Yes it is the dominant culture but I would disagree that the reformation has created the Essence of Scottishness.

    (pedantic warning)

I believe the Essence of Scottishness is more diverse than adhering to a branch of the Protestant faith. Its so much more. Im not going to lecture you as I’ll admit I dont live in Scotland anymore and dont have to put up with what a lot of you guys have to endure but is it not the case that attitudes are changing? When Scotland has its independence it will have to be seen as a fair and open society. That is the only way to progress surely.’

I said the dominant culture in Scotland was rooted in the Reformation.

Rooted in and grown out of.

As for ‘When Scotland has its independence it will have to be seen as a fair and open society.’ Why?

Nothing the SNP has said or done since they swept to power in their historic landslide (45% vote on a 50% turnout) supports that view. We’ve had an unnecessary, authoritarian and intolerant piece of legislation put on the statute book WITHOUT ONE WORD OF DISSENT FROM ANY SNP MSP.

You can afford to wear rose coloured spectacles, you don’t live here. Not everyone has that luxury.

  10. Canamalar FYI 13, 15 and 18 Feb are dates for the prayer mats and i hope lennys hun skelpers skelp terry butcher once more please make sure we score a few goals in inverness on sunday and keep a clean sheet ourselves one of my favourite memories from the cetenary season was El Tels own goal at parkhead. Paul as well as my good evening (9pm here) do you have anymore news on Gold Coast Tom ?

  11. The music quiz should be fun. I forgot to tell my team mates that I have not listened to any music since around the time that pop videos started.

Anyway, back to the main movie, Big Trouble in Little Govan, anybody want to suggest new names for the reformed Rangers?

I’ll go with Leona Helmsley Memorial FC

  12. Gordon J who do you see lifting the superbowl this coming weekend will the patriots be scudded by the greenock tim once more ?

  13. Had to laugh at the headline ‘Rangers monitor Alagui for end of season swoop’.

Surely Alagui will be monitoring Rangers for an end of season swoop. I’d say a bid of £2 by Alagui should be enough to give CW a 100% profit on his investment and should buy the Morrocan a defunct footie club.

  14. SFTB enjoyed your jousts with Kojo to which he and his cotterie rarely replied wouldnt be a music quiz without a few beatles numbers vmhan will you be keeping an eye on old Tim at the bar please pass on my best regards to the malt whisky connosieur hail hail

  15. old tim hail hail your ears must have been burning can you let me have your email address through paul dont think you got my newyear email

  16. Canamalar, why have a go at Abbot and Costello? I really like them; almost universally popular entertainers who never harmed anyone. Are you actually being serious, you have asked this question over two days?

Good grief, you make a cheery wee comment and someone throws “clowns and jokers” back at you.

Moving on with purpose but without making any sudden movements.

    Who’s on first?

southbhoy, hell will freeze over….. Plus, I’m in business, there’s a ton of software I need that you just don’t get on a Mac.

Vmham, it was Harry who cursed it!

  17. Good Afternoon.

Couple of points of clarity prompted by Michael Grant’s article.

1.Am I right in saying that the penalty for entering administration in the current season is 10 points AND A 3 YEAR BAN FROM EUROPEAN COMPETITION? (bit in bold is the really important part.)

2.If a club enters administration during THIS season,it will be deducted 10 points for THIS season.

If that club REMAINS in administration at the start of NEXT season,do they suffer a further 10 point deduction?

    Thanks

  18. CultsBhoy loves being 1st on

    Folly Folly

    … From previous post

What surprises me is that there has never even been talk of a rescue coalition. I would never expect one to materialise in reality but I did expect at least some talk of it.

They are resigned to newco option?

  19. Paul in defence of my good friend canamalar i had also wondered about your description of our potent strike force Stokes and Hooper
