Creating a beleaguered narrative, just in case

339

If Newco think SFA board member Gary Hughes is likely to be a thorn in their side due to his Celtic supporter credentials, or because he referred to (Oldco) fans as “the great unwashed” in 2006, I suspect they are mistaken.

Hughes was a member of the SFA board which last year decided decline the SPFL’s decision to investigate Oldco’s practices.  What has now happened, due to the Daily Record’s splash on Hughes’ comment this morning, is that he is effectively neutered on the subject of Newco/Oldco.

None of this is likely to impact on the forthcoming action of Rangers licence to compete in European football in 2011, Gary Hughes has no influence there whatsoever.  But it helps create a beleaguered narrative, should matters go against the Rangers group of clubs.  And that lot, great or otherwise, do love a beleaguered narrative.

They can stick their Ibrox tickets up their bahookies. If I want asbestosis I’ll go elsewhere for it.

  2. The Sevco board giving into the mad orcs and banning the celebrating Tims from the free Broomloan is a bad sign, it demonstrates that they are even more playing to the mobs mentality.

With the signs that the Hun hedgemony at the SFA is over and Celtic behind the scenes influence is at least getting some independents in the governing body.

Celtic will of course retaliate and cut their allocation to match and the future fixtures will take on a different style. Not sure if it will make it better.

Now after the phoenix club debacle, I had decided never to go back to Ibrox. That will be easier now.

The statement o’clock regime are getting worse and their intransigence and confrontational approach with other clubs and the governing bodies of a recent Hue will not end well.

This encouraging of the Bears with the worst type of behaviour will quickly escalate into some of their worse excesses.

This club s out of control and balanced views are out of the window

Went to see Echo & the Bunnymen in the Usher Hall Edinburgh last night- Superb night started off with me & MattE meeting, or rather nearly bumping into Our Capitan “Broony” on the A71 on way past the Gorgie Lout Hun Bast*rd hole of a ground. Shouted out to Cap’n 7..”Go on Broony Bhoy”…Broony..Broony..Broony”…til MattE said the light was green and we had to move…

  4. GORDYBHOY64,

I’m sure there was a minimum allocation of 5% but it could have changed over the years, there’s no limit to the amount. Some clubs give us two stands just to help fill up the ground,

  5. Sevco have now jumped more sharks than Jacques Cousteau. What an omnishambles of a club.

I wonder what the Police think of this, given that Robertson was recently telling the Orcs their Safety certificate was only granted on the basis of us getting one of their shoe-box stands?

Increasingly, I suspect the club/company is not being run by anyone. Dave is just bumping his gums and all the adults have actually left the room already.

  7. Now being presented almost as a joint decision.

The headline says that, but the text reveals the truth.

Sevco clearly want to make this place a fortress & think this will help.

They also clearly think that it is their right to take as many as they want to other grounds.

  8. “RANGERS notes Hibernian’s decision to cut our supporters’ ticket allocation for the final match of the Scottish Premiership season at Easter Road on Sunday, May 13.

First and foremost Rangers hopes the safety of our fans, who will now be in only one section of the South Stand rather than filling it completely, will not be compromised by this decision, which beggars belief.

This is the least Rangers expects for supporters who have repeatedly proven themselves to be the most loyal in the country by selling out away ticketing allocations at opposition stadiums for years.

This was evident as we rose through the divisions when clubs the length and breadth of the country, including Hibernian, benefitted financially from the presence of our fans.

Rangers will of course bear in mind Hibernian’s decision when considering ticketing arrangements for future matches – both home and away – against this particular club.”

If there are only 800 Tims, I’m not taking Wee BGFC there – not worth the risk to life and limb taking my wee precious man in among those vicious scumbags without more team-handers. Don’t trust the police to provide the necessary security cordon – would need more police than Celtic fans.

I just checked and there is no 5% allocation for league games, like you I thot there was.

As for the disaster game, what made it worse for so many was the huns not accepting any blame for it, they knew fine well it could have happened at any given time, they did nothing to prevent it, the place is evil, it exudes hate, it really needs raised to the ground, society would be all the better for it.

Me and my wee bud had the same ST as you for a few years ,no guarantee of the orcs game but we lalways got a ticket sent through ,had to be paid for of course .

  15. That Uefa decision to allocate the 2020 CL final to Istanbul coincides with this story out today.

The referee was batterde & kicked in a game in London between sides in the Turkish Community Football Federation in north London.

    Seems both sides took part.

  16. Would seriously not consider a ticket to Snake Mountain now. Will be very difficult for police to ensure safety of 800 fans penned into the corner of that ground.

Plus exiting will be difficult as well as both sets of fans will now be coming out onto the Broomloan car park.

  24. One of the conditions for the huns getting a safety cert is that the Celtic support get the broomloan stand, something to do with segregation, so I imagine it’s all grandstanding so they can say they tried and blame others, as per.
