Creating a beleaguered narrative, just in case

339

If Newco think SFA board member Gary Hughes is likely to be a thorn in their side due to his Celtic supporter credentials, or because he referred to (Oldco) fans as “the great unwashed” in 2006, I suspect they are mistaken.

Hughes was a member of the SFA board which last year decided decline the SPFL’s decision to investigate Oldco’s practices.  What has now happened, due to the Daily Record’s splash on Hughes’ comment this morning, is that he is effectively neutered on the subject of Newco/Oldco.

None of this is likely to impact on the forthcoming action of Rangers licence to compete in European football in 2011, Gary Hughes has no influence there whatsoever.  But it helps create a beleaguered narrative, should matters go against the Rangers group of clubs.  And that lot, great or otherwise, do love a beleaguered narrative.

Wake up on the beach at Praiia Do Guincho , having preferred sleeping on the ground to the delights of the interior of a Zephyr Mk 3 containing smellies who haven’t had a good wash since they left the Carnarvon Bar . Drive to Cascais , have breakfast , leave the car , walk to the Alfama to find a man with a dog . Head for a game I knew we were going to win… We won.

AOW….5 days after the completion of a double treble we have the CQN equivalent of a treble single or triumvate from Neg/Weebobbycollins/Kevjungle of blaming Celtic for all the world’s ills.

    ******************************************************

Sorry, can you point to where I blame Celtic for anything? I think maybe you have me confused with someone else…I’m far too old, mild-mannered and content…I keep all things ‘blame’ for DK, the huns, the sfa and the media…

    regards…

  16. Nearly every group of visiting fans forced to inhabit the corner of the home of the,Unwashed, have complained of assaults by the aforementioned,Unwashed.Missiles of all kinds, abuse, threats, naked hatred, directed at them throughout the 90 minutes.Entering and leaving is also going to create flash points all over the place. We know The Peepul in defeat. This is a recipe for disaster. In all of their previous utterances on the matter,Police Scotland have said that the Celtic fans occupying the Free Broomloan, was the safest, easiest to control,ay of staging the game at this stadium.

I am wondering what has changed.Have they even been consulted?.

If I were Celtic ,I would refuse to handle the tickets for this game.

No one will be able to vouch for the safety of our fans there. This really is a serious problem.God forbid anything serious happens, but we all know we would be roped in to it.Shame game 2.You know the headlines.

  20. CQN Saturday Naps Competition : FINAL standings (May 19th)

You really can’t keep a good man down… and leftclicktic proved that by signing off a spectacular season (in style) with yet another winner on the final weekend of the Naps competition, which made it 12 winners in total…

    that’s a quadruple Treble of winners !!!

    :)

It’s been almost procession-like this season, with Lefty so far in front… amazingly consistent tipping over the course of the year, and I hope you had at least a quid on them all.

Well done to 16 roads, for an honourable second place, and the only other napster finishing in profit… he’s 50p up over the season!

Apologies once again for the delays in updates recently, the time differences in NZ do not help, and lack of internet at home has been a killer for the last 6 weeks… I expect to be fully back on the ball next year (if anyone is interested in challenging leftclicktic… I don’t think anyone has retained the title, so the pressure will be on!

    :)
