Since July I’ve written about the over-dependence we have on Kris Commons as a creative player. He’s pretty much our only option, and if he’s not fancied, injured, suspended or just off-form, we look like a team full of energy but without a key to open the door.
It may be that Ronny doesn’t figure on having a classic No. 10 in his team, and it’s more than possible that we won’t play one against European heavyweights, but against packed SPFL defences, we need someone who can create space in dangerous areas.
As we mentioned last month, some years ago Celtic reportedly looked at Bosnian international, Semir Stilic, while he was at Lech Poznan. His star faded before a journey through Ukrainian and Turkish football before he returned to Poland with Wisla Krakow 12 months ago on an 18 month contract. Since then he’s been a sensation and has kept Wisla in touch with the top of the table.
He’s refused a new contract offer from Wisla and is subject to a bid from Dinamo Zagreb, thought to be in the region of €250k. He’s likely to be on circa €2k per week. We’ve scouted the player, he’s soon out of contract, going cheap, on low wages, on form and we’re short of what he can give.
This is the kind of player Dinamo Zagreb pick up for buttons and enables them to compete as effectively as they did against Celtic with a fraction of our budget. He has the making of an effective January signing.

No getting through to you that there are a lot of Celtic supporters with genuine reasons for dissatisfaction?
I don’t have a problem with those who think that everything is the best in this best of all possible worlds-you should have to listen to my Dad when he starts on his ‘back in the day’-but it does not alter the fact that there are genuine reasons for concern.
Until that is understood,and acted upon,Celtic support will be divided.

It’s f…..g heartbreaking that they seem to be coming out of LIQUIDATION,let’s remember,more unified than us.
We have not built on a golden chance. Whoever was in charge of that failure to do so should be held responsible.

Point taken; however the wee Bhoys lost to Fenerbache, Schalke, Gladbach, Hoffenheim and Zurich before losing the last place play off to Fenerbache on pens after a 2-2 draw. Doesn’t augur very well, especially with a goal diff of 6 -18

I enjoyed reading your post about rising above the FOD hordes and how that annoys them still more…….
…….but/and I would contend that it’s not only your demeanour that enables you to take such an attitude…..it’s that other vital word ………. boss.
Namely, you are. They’re not.
That dynamic is pivotal in allowing you to rat easier on the high ground while they slither in the mire.
Celtic could learn a lot from that. Boss the present situation. Call out the big lie and big liars. And start acting as the principal player.

IMO there is only one possible reason for the silence of the Celtic board….their complicity in trying to resurrect the old firm, and really, their behaviour is nothing short of shameful.
I do not want these kind of people representing Celtic…..we need wholesale changes.
Celtic supporters should have a board willing to fight their corner, sadly, that’s not the case.
