Criminal Justice Information database, where the missing data can be found

1125

Following yesterday’s article on the cosy relationship between the police and Scottish Government, who are alarming a remarkably wide range of society, a flurry of information has been passed back to me, including the following notes on the Integration of Scottish Criminal Justice Information Systems (ISCJIS) database.  The First Minister has stonewalled requests to breakdown religiously aggravated crime, claiming the Crown Office have destroyed their records, but my source suggests the information is available for analysis in the ISCJIS database.  I’m told:

“The material stored (in the ISCJIS database) ranges from simple conviction records, to DNA, and social status. The data is used primarily for presenting Criminal History in court cases, and in identifying suspects in criminal investigations. It is also used of course to measure the social impact of changes in Legislation and Enforcement Policy, as evidenced by the current furore. It will also be used to predict the impact of such changes, particularly as regards Equality and Diversity impacts, which is a statutory requirement of any proposed Legislation.  You see, the ‘missing’ data is actually necessary in predicting the impact on Equality of the Offensive Behaviour Bill.”

“Essentially, if you want to know how many Section 74 Breach of the Peace convictions (Aggravation for Religious Prejudice) or even charges, there were at a given point in time in a given court, you simply search on the Breach of the Peace Conviction Code and add the modifier code ‘P’ indicating Religious Aggravation. All such offences are then returned, with full access (rights permitted) to the Reports and Case Notes.”

To assist the First Minister, below is information on what the enquiry form he has to complete looks like.  This is a link to the operation manual and if he’s really stuck he can call the helpdesk on 0141-585 – 8333.

We can only speculate why the authorities are so reluctant to disclose information on, on a subject so close to their hearts.

Quick shout for the John Thomson Memorial Fund, which is benefiting from the sale of 60″ posters for the recent stage play, check them out on ebay.

I suggest you go and do some research on the origins and history of the SNP.

That will give you a clue as to why they are pressing ahead with this legislation.

They are not the party you imagine them to be.

There are a rather large obvious assumption you’ve made in such a suggestion.

That aside, I think it would be actionable as it would not be an act of religious observance, but a calculated act to inflame others based on their perceived religion. Where we stand on this is something of a (Les) Grey area but I would find the reaction rather amusing.

You/we’d be disrespecting, in quite a public manner, one particular religion (see first point)

I see it going the other way. If fans forced a ruling allowing games broadcast in Europe to be broadcast here, Celtic would be forced to stop broadcasting in Europe.

  5. Somebody, sorry, I’ve forgotten who, amusingly suggested a list of harmless songs we could sing.

“Happiness”, by Ken Dodd, was one.

Disturbingly, though, he included, “The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond”.

Wasn’t that about the imagined musings of a rebel, condemned to die by the English government?

Think that’ll have to be put on the “naughty list”.

    greenjedi,

We did win WW I …. would you have dropped the atomic bombs on Japan ?

I would prefer that we engaged with the enemy rather than the continual acquiescence and cooperation that we are witnessing now. You may well be right and I am not saying you are not. We will find out by this summer if the big tax case goes against the hun.

As for your preferred choice of strategy … which I do not recognise as a strategy … what battles or skirmishes have we actually won recently ? maybe I am missing something

    Hail Hail

    ……………….

I’m talking about the supporters not the club. I have no idea what the Board want regarding the somgs and the huns.

We have won nothing yet as we are still charging over the top from the trenches. A change of tactics is needed.

Re the A Bomb, I’ve no idea how I would have decided that. Kill thousands to save thousands. I know people whose fathers and grandfathers fought and/or where in POW with the Japanese and they said their relatives hated the Japanese as they where the most evil people on earth. I know their view is clouded through hate but did the A Bomb stop further years of war, or did it bring about what was going to happen anyway?

I’m not really interested in their history, I’m interested in where this country is going in the future and as I said I’m talking about taking an objective look at what they might gain from it and the answer is very little.

It certainly looks like its leading to a net loss in votes, from those actually interested in the issue (and that’s the nub I suspect).

Labour, who at the end of the day are the SNPs only real challengers, would be on a similar track by now. Of that I have no doubt. If anybody expects a Labour led Assembly to remove this from the statutes should they return to power they’ll be very disappointed. I’m not sure they’d even amend it if it was shown to be ‘working’.

  10. Anyone hear the MSP on 5Live this morning. Can’t remember his name but he didn’t seem to have a clue about what the proposed bill would outlaw. To be fair, Nicky Campbell gave him an easy time. I’d prefer Peter Allen to give him a grilling.

Evidently we have some sort of right to broadcast in Europe, but not here ergo we have a ‘right to broadcast’. Clearly the SPL have placed a caveat on that right to broadcast in order to protect ‘their’ product. In my view, it would by the SPL, by placing such a caveat based on geographical borders who would be in breach of the ruling.

The huns have changed over the years though, haven’t they?

This legislation suggests the SNP have not.

Playing Devil’s Advocate here, I don’t think anything would have been achieved by a match commander reporting sectarian chanting at Easter Road. For one thing, it is the home team who would be held accountable and even if they did cite Rangers, the result would be that Rangers have done everything reasonably possible to prevent such chants. (This is the same as they said in the Celtic case).

I’m still waiting to hear why no-one reported St Johnstone fans last season for racist gestures and chants aimed at our South Korea players.

Evidently it is ok for them to continue to knuckle drag their way through the latter part of the 17th century (or Larkhall as it’s better known).

This is what really irks me: the SNP are going after a bunch of young lads having a bit of a sing-song with the most minor of references to ‘the ra’ whilst continuing to allow such a sinister organisation parade their open hatred. (ah, but it’s ok, the marchers are fine, it’s the hangers-on apparently)

Quite right to put “their” in inverted commas. It’s “our” product. We need the co-operation of all the other teams to draw in our sheckles. It’s only fair they get not only their cut but a degree of consideration.

Surely the Match Commander at Easter Road should be charged with neglect of duty? More likely sorted out over a pint at the ludge.

  22. ernie lynch says:

Only latterly, perhaps. There’s little to suggest that they’ve been thus throughout their history. My mother, God rest her soul, was taught by a Westminster SNP MP who would not have had anything to do with the party had that been the case.

I think there’s an easy polarisation on this subject and the SNP currently have a number of individuals who are quite happy to be polarised in a particular fashion (more so in that it’s a very good vote winner in parts of this country).

What’s happening now is a very, very sad reflection on of our country.

  24. Celtic will be without three regular first-team players when they take on Udinese in their crucial Europa League match.

Joe Ledley, Glenn Loovens and Adam Matthews did not travel to Italy with the rest of his squad on Wednesday.

Kris Commons was also absent from the party, while Emilio Izaguirre travelled but will not play.

Yeah I know Mate and that’s the galling thing as a Celt abroad to watch us a club get stitched up by these idiots, I for one don’t want to see us get involved in a tit for tat scenario, he said, she said, they said but it would be interesting to know under who’s directive Eddie was working under because it it’s down to individual policemen things could get a whole lot worse before they get better.

I doubt that many in Scotland are interested in being fair within the corridors of power, they just want to be seen as doing something in what they think is an election winning theme.

I really hope and pray that our team continue their run of wins as winning the title this year is imperative, to show those who would destroy us that we remain unbowed in the face of their cowardice and injustice..
