CELTIC will take on Falkirk at Parkhead in the Premier Sports League Cup last 16 next month.
The holders were paired with John McGlynn’s team in the draw which was held after St Mirren’s 2-1 win over Scott Bown’s Ayr United in Paisley this afternoon, a result that saw both sides reaching the next stage.
The tie means a quickfire return to the east end of Glasgow for keeper Scott Bain who joined the Premiership new boys in the summer.

SILVER SMILES…Scott Bain holds aloft the League Cup after Celtic’s 1-0 win over Aberdeen in 2018 – now the keeper is poised to face his old team-mates in the same competition.
Coincidentally, Brendan Rodgers’ men played Falkirk in the quarter-finals of the competition at the same venue last September and won 5-2 with doubles from Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn and one from Paulo Bernardo.
And Stephen Robinson’s Saints team will provide the opposition at Parkhead a week today when the Premiership kicks off.
The Hoops, of course, won the silverware after a dramatic penalty-kick shoot-out triumph over Ibrox opposition following a thrilling 3-3 stalemate at Hampden in December last year when Kasper Schmeichel denied Ridvan Yilmaz and Daizen Maeda tucked away the fifth and deciding effort.
