CELTIC will face Partick Thistle at Firhill in the Premier Sports League Cup quarter-finals with the game due on the weekend of September 20/21.
The Maryhill club are, of course, managed by ex-Hoops defender Mark Wilson who led the side to a 2-0 win over Scott Brown’s Ayr United 2-0 earlier today.
The Hoops eased into the last-eight of the competition with a convincing 4-1 triumph over Falkirk in the east end of Glasgow last night.
It was an evening to remember for young centre-back Dane Murray who signed a three-year extension on his contract just hours before kick-off and then marked the occasion with his first goal for the holders.

The hosts were already leading 2-0 at that stage with Daizen Maeda’s breakthrough header in the first-half and Alistair Johnston’s strike shortly after the turnaround.
The unfortunate Liam Henderson deflected a low left-wing cross from Yang Hyun-jun into his own net for No.4.
St Mirren beat Hearts 5-4 on penalty-kicks after a 1-1 extra-time draw this afternoon while a goal in added-on time gave Motherwell a 1-0 success over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. Aberdeen made no mistake with a 3-0 victory over Morton at Cappielow.
Rangers got through after a 4-2 win over third-tier Alloa at Ibrox with the help of a VAR-assisted phantom penalty-kick from James Tavernier.
