NICK WALSH will take charge of Celtic’s Scottish Cup Final clash with Rangers at Hampden a week on Saturday.
It will be the referee’s second derby of the season following his appointment for the Premiership meeting at Parkhead on December 30.
The champions won 2-1 with goals from Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo Furuhashi and the main flashpoint was the red card for Ibrox defender Leon Balogun in the 71st minute after he had floored Daizen Maeda.
YOU’RE BOOKED…Nick Walsh flashes the yellow card at South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu following a clash with grounded Ibrox defender Ben Davies in Celtic’s 2-1 League Cup triumph last season.
It will be the first silverware showdown in the national competition between the Glasgow foes in 22 years with Brendan Rodgers’ men hoping to complete a league and Cup double on the iconic date of May 25, exactlyl 57 years after Jock Stein’s all-stars conquered Europe with a 2-1 triumph over Inter Milan in Lisbon.
Walsh will be assisted by Calum Spence and David Roome, with Steven McLean as fourth official. John Beaton will be the VAR official.
He was also the referee for the Hoops’ 2-1 League Cup Final win over the Ibrox outfit at Hampden in February last year when Kyogo fired a double salvo to claim the main prize.
