CVA plans melt in April heat

240

Duff and Phelps and any prospective Rangers buyer quoted have been making confident noises about a CVA being agree with creditors, we’ve even heard the club could be out of administration next week.

The mood changed yesterday when the SPL announced potential sanctions for a Newco to be admitted to the league following liquidation and increased sanctions for clubs in administration, which would only affect Rangers were they to remain under court protection until the start of next season.

Duff and Phelps now say, “the fact that such measures are being considered at such a sensitive point in the sale process at Rangers is disruptive and regrettable”.

It’s time for Duff and Phelps to follow through with all those confident noises and agree a CVA with creditors.  If HMRC are open to the idea, conclude a deal, there is no need to wait for the FTT verdict.  If HMRC will not agree to a CVA, which is my understanding, drop the pretence and tell us how you plan to proceed.

Is it too late to suggest they just pay their bills and save everyone all this trouble?

No indication of date yet, but he has said he’s filming in Glasgow on Monday/Tuesday

”The new Alex Thiompson blog once again shows the media strategy for the Cheats’ Charter at work in what Doncaster has to say…….. There is some ambiguity about what happens if a club goes into liquidation in the close season, ie after promotion and relegation issues have been settled.”

Agreed it is a very good article, I haven’t read too many Scottish journos looking at the Morality [non] issue, but these proposals have got to be good for RFCia.

Uncertainty was the problem for R@ngers, with all the other strands to their tangled web to unpick their Phoenixing without the Fix was always in doubt and destination desolation was a distinct possibility.

You can’t disagree overall with Alex Thomson’s statement…..

“To be clear: Rangers FC could be back in the SPL having paid nowt to the taxman and without the currently proposed sanctions to be voted on. So in cold hard facts, the rule changes actually toughen things up for RFC – or anybody else – and not the other way around.

    BUT

Giving them a route map outlining the path from perdition must surely be in their favour, despite the inconvenience of the thorny trail to their no doubt impenitent redemption.

From FF. They’re never exactly happy. Now it’s the end for Protestants:

I feel that Declan has been posting on FF again, the lhad is incorrigible. Regardless of the authors identity he is without doubt a comedy genius.

  5. Monaghan1900 – wow! What an all embracing outlook that bloke has. He has of course forgotten the corner stone to all his clubs woes, the evil genius behind the whole sorry mess; Sir David Murray. Who knew he was vatican controlled?

Just as an aside – say a newco didn’t fancy starting the next few seasons minus X amount of points and getting 25% of the money from the SPL (oh and quite possibly getting pumped regularly, possibly flirting with bottom 6). Could they decide to simply apply to SFL for Div 3 anyway?

What would be the difference? They won’t get Europe for a few years anyway so what would be the big difference from their point of view?

They could even spin it to their fans in a “They think they can survive without us do they?” kind of way to create an even more bunker like mindset.

I’m not saying this is in anyway likely, just asking the question.

Maybe they could start attending church on a Sunday and learning Christian ethics. Or do TRUE Protestants not do that sort of thing?

    Stupid huns…

Is that the same Protestants that regularly abuse a Baptist ministers son?

I’m sure they will take the coordinated attack by influential Catholics on Protestantism to their kirk ministers on a Sunday to discuss, they might also like to ask why the Kirk supported the Papal visit.

    Bams.

  8. The hun admin is a really evil joke- its mendacity could even cast a shadow over the darkest quantum of the financial world. They have no respect for any hammer & saws that govern civilization. A woman gave birth to the beast today. On the day of judgement Ibrox will flap like an appendix, a satanic ornament, from the body of the Leviathan- with the hun horde trapped inside like insects in a matchbox…

  9. It is driving me INSANE : this rubbish about how IF Rankers get found guilty of tax crimes ; they’ve ALREADY been found guilty, guilty, guilty. The FTT is an APPEAL against that guilt. Jeezo.

There are also numerous other investigations into their malfeasance.

    Ach.

That blogger should be tracked by the police because he is going to racially attack an innocent bystander who happens to cross paths with him at some point in his his life.

by the sounds of that article he would have done it had one crossed him as he was beating the life out of the keyboard typing it!
