Celtic arrive in Prague tomorrow for a game many of us consider a dead rubber. The thumping Sparta inflected at Celtic Park still smarts and almost certainly ended the competitive element of our Europa League campaign. The most we can hope for is a cohesive performance and an injury and illness free trip. A defeat, even a heavy defeat, will not resonate as much as the draw at Easter Road.
For me, the pace quickens at the weekend, when your clean sheet domestic record goes on the line for the 36th consecutive time. We can only hope the week will be used productively.

Can you imagine the Green Brigade banners that would have been unveiled inside the ground these past few weeks? Or how the players and managers would have been greeted when they went over to the corner after each game to applaud the fans?
As I have said before, Covid has kept Neil in his job. He and the players would have been booed off the park after the European debacles and the huns game. Swathes of empty seats would have got the message through to PL.

However, he deserves all the thanks and appreciation and respect in the world and for that we (me included) should temper our frustration accordingly. Neil has been let down by the club and will sadly only go when he is pushed. Didn’t need to come to this at all. The whole club, and a huge swathe of our support, have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Think we can clearly see that this blog has become a pro/anti Neil venting place.
It totally frustrates me that he is deemed sainted by some.
Board are fully aware of the road they are going down with this one.
There’s a rumour going around that Donald Trump and Rudi Giuliani are heading to Celtic Park today, for talks.
Donald will be teaching the players about honesty and integrity; advising PL on the best use of Twitter and coaching Neil on Press Conference Management.
Rudi, on the other hand will be preparing a legal challenge to the SFA’s authority.
So we will be in good hands. 🥴
On a serious note, I think the Club needs to move fast now. Neil should be looked after after mutual agreement to leave. His historical contributions recognised and his well being supported, going forward.

Maybe the GB’s intention is to influence NFL rather than the Board. And maybe that suits the Board.
But if it doesn’t work, what’s their next trick?
On John Kennedy, if the original suits plan is for JK to succeed NL next season or whenever and he is not found to be contributing to lack of on field professionalism then I would give it to JK if NL walks early.

This is a hard one fella for me. We’ve known Neil for 2 decades and as a player and manager has brought me personally enormously great times. I’ve lost a bit of that this season but that’s a fault on my side as I get wrapped up in the moment, a season where the stakes are so high (TIAR).
I think we are in the end game with Neil and I find it sad. The young lads of the GB, unlike the demographic here, will be the ones that carry the Neil memory further and I think it’s getting tainted game by game which is a crap legacy for him ultimately. He deserved better than that.

Neil lennon and many of the current celtic squad have delivered unprecedented success for our club and deserve enormous credit for their achievements. However, past accomplishments are not enough to excuse the level of performance and lack of desire we have endured throughout this momentous season.
Despite having the best squad in the country, the football on display has been dismal, lacking in ideas and belief. many of our best players have disappointed and we have performed poorly both domestically and in European competition, winning only 2 games from our previous 8. Whilst we would love nothing more than to see Neil Lennon win us the championship, we are part of a growing element of the celtic support that has sadly concluded that he is unable to turn our season around.
After a decade of unrivalled footballing and financial dominance it is disappointing to find ourselves 11 points off the league summit and virtually out of the Europa League, having failed to make it past even the second round of qualification for the Champions League. We appreciate all that Neil has done for the club and endured in his time in Scotland, however there is simply too much at stake to persevere in hope rather than expectation, and managerial change needs to be made.
Celtic Football Club is bigger than us all, and the good of the club must come first , Peter Lawwell and the Celtic board must act now in a bid to save 10-in-a-row as well as their own legacies. Should they fail to deliver this title, it will be them who are held to account.
