Deadline day is as it should be. Celtic have completed the business which they hope will see them through to the title in May (or April). There is a sub-squad of peripheral players who may get a loan, while Giorgos Giakoumakis is expected to leave for Atlanta in the North American closed shop. The MLS window is open until April, which introduces an anomaly for Celtic to consider.
With two in and two out in defence, a striker in and Giorgos probably heading out, the first team squad is net up a central midfielder – Tomoki Iwata. Without closing doors on development opportunities open to our recent additions, it is hard to see the value in adding new bodies without others going out.

While the fekin Putin supporter is hanging around,I will only lurk with the odd comment.
St Stivs,a stonewall penalty.
Apart from everything else, undue force from the keeper, which could have resulted in serious injury to Kyogo.Probably lucky in a way,he had a cushion in the defender.
WBC,”a man’s game.”Away and give us peace. No idea what you were watching.
Oh,going to be a powerhouse for us.Much more movement than Gio.
GOD SAVE UKRAINE.

This is the article where somebody will post, but we should be getting rid of ‘the deadwood’ and the squad is still ‘bloated ‘

BIG WAVY, good list, agree with most if not all (well, it’s all about opinions, eh?)
As far as Idecuchi goes he was was subject to a terrible, season-defining stamp on his ankle which put him out for weeks (just as he was getting up to speed) and set him back for longer. By the time he might have been regaining fitness we were in the sharp end -of-season games where opportunities for game time were at a premium. Obviously this season he has made no impact at all and therefore would probably be better moving. I still rankle at that game and the wee ned manager of Alloa Bawwy Fergushun happily boasting about telling his players to get in about our ankles (Ideguchi?) and in our faces (Calum’s broken cheekbone). Grrrrr.
Conor Hazard I’m not so sure about letting go. I’ve seen him quite a few times and I’ve been quite impressed. I thought he did well enough when Lenny threw him in during THAT season and the so-called senior keepers were absolutely not hacking it. Did no bad in the Cup Final (for the 4th Treble win). Worth developing?

All about opinions my friend. At the moment, with loanees coming back, we have a first team squad of 42 players. We need to shave the end of the Lennon era and recognise that Iwata (I’m really excited about and we don’t speak enough about) is head and shoulders better than Guchi. In the Hun matches we need him to step in to Mooy’s shoes.
Ange hasn’t blinked on his pragmatic phasing out of Joe Hart (great show stopper but poor with his feet) and who the next 1st team keeper is. Siegrist is a JH clone with the same attributes and failings, Bain is a nightmare and of course Hazard & Oluyemi (on loan) makes us look like we are accumulating keepers with no coherence.
I’d hope it’s our signature signing in June in time for the Champions League.

striking workers fought police in the centre of Glasgow. The Secretary of State for Scotland declared it a “Bolshevist uprising” and thousands of troops were deployed to restore order. The strike was to lower the working week to 40 hours

BIG WAVY,
I’d hope it’s (a keeper) our signature signing in June in time for the Champions League.
Amen to that my bhoy. What a statement that would be. Wonder if Ange can spot a keeper as well as an outfield player.
Thought big Joe did a tremendous job at settling the defence when he came in last year, but we need the modern sweeper/keeper to take the next step.

Good to see the Dunning-Kruger knows its limits, no debate, just ignorant babble and demads for compliance with jingoistic propaganda.

BOURNE, didn’t know that, thought he was still a ‘youngster’. Maybe his time has come and gone right enough, though keepers do tend to mature a bit later.

Talking about birthdays, today Allan ‘Greggsy’ McGregor turns 41 years old.
Should have been put out to pastures years ago but long may he continue to be their last line of porous defence and wage thief, adorned in bigoted orange from head to toe.

A question for those who have been warning us since the start of the season that because of cheating hun refs, the league is far from over.
Why do Celtic keep winning?

Sheer unadulterated Bollox…
WBC…It is YOU who are clueless. Feel free to TRY and explain where in the Rules it says that a Goalie is ALLOWED to ” GO THRU” an opponent, when trying to play the Ball ?
I wont be holding my breath for you to SHOW me and others PROOF of any such Rule. YOU actually come across a CHUMP who is DISAPPOINTED that KYOGO wasnt injured in that ILLEGAL CHALLENGE ?
I played Fitba at Junior level…How about YOU ?
BIG JIMMY on 31ST JANUARY 2023 10:46 AM
If a OUTFIELD Player wins the Ball….BUT ” GOES THROUGH” his opponent from the back or side in order to win the Ball….According to the RULES….Its a FOUL with possible yellow or red card to follow ?
WHERE does it STATE in the RULES, that a Goalkeeper is ALLOWED to ” GO THROUGH” an opponent to win the Ball….and that Goalie or his Team will NOT be punished in ANY way ?
The Ref AWARDED that penalty almost straight away….WHAT did he see on that Monitor that made him change his ORGINAL decision ?

Weebobbycollins.
That was a penalty if the player on the receiving end of the challenge was a sevco player.
One interpretation of the rules for us and a different interpretation for everyone else.
B..b..b..but Calum McGregor says it wasn’t a penalty. Is he a chump as well? Stick to the rotten jokes big man…

was being sarcastic, ref gives it, then changes his mind, so it was not a penalty.
No amount of your insults changes anything, the rules should have been applied, there are 2 fould and bookable offenses committed in the sandwich.
If CCV and Hart clatter a Rangers player the same way in the cup final they will get a penalty.

WEEBOBBYCOLLINS…
Heres another question for you while I STILL wait for you to answer my 1st question….
Near the end of a 1 – 1 draw against the Huns at Celtic Park a few years ago…..the Hun player CLINT HILL went through LEIGH GRIFFITHS from the side, which almost halved LEIGH GRIFFITHS in TWO, inside the Huns Penalty are ……
DID YOU SHOUT for a PENALTY to Celtic on that occasion ?
A simple ” YES or NO” will suffice for the moment.
!!BADA BING!! on 31ST JANUARY 2023 1:06 PM
Wise words, the VAR statistics aren’t lost on Celtic or AP in particular. I’m sure from what he’s said since the beginning he factors in what happens in Celtic games and in their closest rivals.
So long as the emabarrassing imbalance continues like every Celtic hand ball a penalty (with a yellow card ) every Sevco handball not a penalty then the league is far from over.
Fortunately, over four windows AP has amassed a better squad, and the nine point gap established before VAR remains intact.
Get to bed early tonight fellas. Changed times indeed……

Maybe CALMAC was being DIPLOMATIC considering that Celtic WON the game anyway.
If Celtic had NOT won the game, CALMAC may well have offered up a DIFFERENT OPINION ?
I am STILL waiting for you to PROVIDE the PROOF…..in the RULES….WHERE it clearly states that a Goalie is ALLOWED To go through an opponent, without being Guilty of FOUL PLAY.
ANYWHERE else on the Pitch…it is FOUL PLAY.
What is so hard for you to understand ?
What LEVEL did YOU play Fitba….YOU NEVER answered that question either.

and you want to correct my spelling?
If an attacking player jumps into a keeper with even one quarter of that force , the keeper gets a foul every time . So what’s the difference?
If the keeper had jumped to catch the ball and had bumped Kyogo out of the way then fair enough .
Likewise , if the defender hadn’t barged Kyogo into the keeper , a foul may not have resulted .
Outside the box , a player deliberately sandwiched between two opponents gets a foul every time , so what’s the difference?

A question for those who have been warning us since the start of the season that because of cheating hun refs, the league is far from over.
Why do Celtic keep winning?”
Because the margin by whish we are better than all the other teams in the League is greater than the benefits those teams gain from the officiating in Scotland?

Is Kyogo barged into by Mark Birighitti? And maybe more importantly, is Smith deliberately jumping into Kyogo?

dearie me.
Why debate the penalty incident again. We can all agree to differ. Personally I agree with our captain and former captain. :-
“Callum said: “I think when we seen it back, it was probably the right decision in the end.
“It’s one of those when the two of them (Kyogo and Birighitti) go together and the referee said he (Birighitti) got a nick on the ball as well so that’s fine – that’s what VAR is there for.”
Hoops hero Stiliyan Petrov agreed with the Parkhead skipper and admitted at half-time that the referee made the right decision.”
It would be boring if we all agreed.
