TIMOTHY WEAH could be forced to miss a grand finale at Celtic – but hinted he could be back for another season at the club.
The 19-year-old on-loan Paris Saint-Germain attacker may miss being involved in the Hoops squad for the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts at Hampden on May 25.
Weah could be called up by the United States for the World Cup Under-20s Finals in Poland in the summer with the first tie against the Ukraine scheduled 24 hours ahead of the silverware showdown with the Tynecastle side which could see the Hoops complete an unprecedented treble treble.
The exciting youngster, who has scored four in 15 appearances for the champions, is now waiting to learn if USA national team manager Gregg Berhalter agrees to Under-20 coach Tab Ramos’ request to include him in his squad.
Berhalter may opt instead to retain Weah for the senior pool who will take part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament from June 15 to July 7.

The teenager, speaking to The Scotsman, admitted: “I don’t know what’s going on. I didn’t really know about the situation until I saw it mentioned in the US media. I guess Celtic has to discuss it with the national team.
“I would love to play in the Scottish Cup Final for Celtic, but it’s a World Cup, as well, for the national team which is also a big deal. It’s up to the club and the national team to discuss which one is better for me.
“Hopefully, whatever happens, the guys will go to Hampden and pull off the victory. It would be good to be a part of it, but we’ll wait and see what happens.”
Looking ahead, Weah revealed he will have discussions with his parents – dad George is a former world superstar and current Liberian president – to decide which club will be the “best fit” for him next season.
Weah is under contract at the French giants until 2021, but his first team opportunities at the club remain limited.
He added: “It’s really up to the family. We just have to discuss it and see what opportunity best fits me and is best for my career and future.
“Who knows? There’s always a possibility I could have another spell at Celtic.
“Right now, I’m just focused on finishing the season, helping the team try to win the treble again and, hopefully, getting one or two more goals.
“It’s been great for me at Celtic so far. I’ve taken every moment that I can stretch out of it. I’ve made three starts, a lot of sub appearances and scored four goals. I’ve got what I was looking for when I came here in January.
“I’m gaining experience and playing with a great group of guys. It’s really been amazing so far. Hopefully, we can finish the season the way we want to and I can have a season to remember.”
