Ekeren was intended to be my first European away trip, had paid £60 deposit with a night in Amsterdam before the game. Unfortunate, I got my first teaching places and couldn’t go.
Judging by the tales which came back about the night prior to the game I’m glad I missed it!!!

Ekeren was my first away trip as well,
train and ferry,stayed in Antwerp for 2 nights,
pub next to the hotel never shut in the entire time we were there.

I just know that Ekeren will never have seen the likes of us, mind the walk to the ground and folk hanging out their windaes everywhere just staring at us but loving that we were just having a sing song and a bevy. The police didnt know what to make of us, whether to get the riot gear on or join in the singing and bevying!
As for the Lada,to Bremen thats magic, and i bet not one jot was cared on that trip!
