Dedryck after his MVP performance and Craig

1282

Appropriate appreciation is due to Dedryk Boyata for his MVP performance on Wednesday. He scored the goal that won the points, could have scored more and made the most impressive defensive intervention of the game.

If scouts were in the Celtic Park stand watching, he did all he could to entice an offer, but a sample size of one game is not enough to validate a change in form for me.

Brendan has a big selection decision to make for Hearts on Sunday. You could argue he’s got the best from Patrick Roberts by bringing him on as a substitute in Celtic’s last four games, the most recent three of which the player considerably lifted the Celtic performance. Patrick will be wondering what he needs to do to get a start.

Chelsea want to sign Craig Gordon? No surprise there, they did sign Magnus Hedman a year after he left Celtic, after all. Craig is playing well and a reliable cog in an effective defensive wheel. But you know me. This far off the qualifiers, it’s all about the price as far as I’m concerned.

Everyone has a price, to think otherwise is to deny the future exists.

What Brendan actually said was he wouldn’t rush into any panic buys and he has consistently said that since he arrived.

But hey you make your own bitter narrative why change the habits of a lifetime…

  8. I wonder is Frampton still making smart remarks about The R*****s being back, and about Scott Brown wearing a bra, maybe not, his head is too sore no doubt.

    Good Morning,

Imagine, if you will, a wee west of Scotland boy who grew up a Celtic Fan.

He followed the hoops everywhere and was imbued with what we know as The Celtic Spirit.

On Friday night, Bernard Ponsonby described growing up a Celtic fan, and then described the journey of the actor David Hayman, who instead of being born with those Celtic leanings simply chose them and now wears them with pride.

But let’s turn back to our wee west of Scotland Celtic fan. Let’s presume him to be the son of immigrants who came to Scotland and did not always have it easy here. Still, he found Celtic, and Celtic found him — and what he learned from his family — his genetic and Celtic family — is that at times you have to be humble to do the right thing and to do things right.

Our Celtic supporting immigrant would go on to achieve great things and personal wealth. He would be recognised by the media, achieve success in his chosen profession and yet know great tragedy in his personal life.

He would have ups and downs in business and he would move away from Scotland and Celtic but would always retain great ties with both.

At times, he might not always have been the most popular in some quarters, and indeed would not often get a mention when compared to others who have stood on the same terracings, walked on the same turf, worn the same strip and sat in the same chair.

None of that really fazed him — he just got on with getting on, doing his own thing.

A short time ago, he opened a centre for homeless people using his own money and influence. £150,000 was mentioned, and having opened the homeless unit he set about publicising it locally, sleeping rough and personally spending his time and his money doing the right thing and doing thing right — the way he had always been taught.

He will be following Celtic today against Hearts.

He is not awa well regarded as the likes of Tommy Burns but you may have heard of him. He

My Dad took me that game — an opportunity to see a very good team and the great Kurt Hamrin A memorable experience — blootered Huns bellowing wowee sectarian abuse in between fighting with each other as Fiorentina exposed how absurd their notions of superiority were . Later on, several Italian businesses were attacked by raving Hun bigots.

I was at that game.It was Kurt Hamrin I went to see.Had read all about him in The Topical Times Annual.Did not let me down.

How long before Brendan realize’s that, even squirrels have a PLC shelf life….?

How long before these eejits who put up styoopit banners that have hee-haw to do with the team on the pitch and get the Cellic yet another caught with an easy punch style of fine and, when the requisite number of these fines are accumulated…get Cellic banned oot of Europe…?

Ah mean, how many more styoopit fines are we away from a ban…?

Do these folk who’ll today be handing out awards for the Palestine thing or whatever it is, not get that they’re by they’re own uberness…driving the Cellic towards a ban from Europe…?
