Dedryck strolls past England

1089

Hot on the heels of a former Celtic player becoming the most expensive defender in transfer history, we watched Dedryck Boyata stroll through Belgium’s win against England last night.  I would be more animated on this subject if he was secured on a five year contract, but as he his current deal only has one year to go, such a high profile performance could reduce our options for the player.

How many of you thought we would be in this situation after the Ibrox game in March?  That day Brendan Rodgers said there was better to come from Dedryck.  He is still not the finished article, but he’s a key cog in a team who fancy their chances in Russia.

Stiliyan Petrov match worn Champions League shirt raffle

We have a very special raffle, which ends this afternoon! The shirt Stiliyan Petrov wore in Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich during our 2003 Champions League campaign is available. You can buy a ticket for £1 here on ebay.  Stan signed the shirt.

All proceeds go to the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation to aid research into leukaemia and cancer treatments.  Stiliyan’s recover from leukaemia shows us just how far treatments have come, but as our own CQN community knows too well, more progress is needed.  The draw will be made at Woodside Hotel, Aberdour, where the 14th annual CQN Open Golf Day is now underway.

Hope to see you later.

Watched Lewis Morgan in a couple of live tv games after we signed him. Said then we had a really good player – pacy , going past opponents with ease and scoring from outside the box with either foot.

Think he will make na impact this season (also looked best of the bunch in Wednesdays’ first half line up)

  3. Myself, my son & grandson are coming to visit the UK )in fact the whole blooming gang) and we’re trying to get to see the Celts against Livingston in that opening game of the season – shown as being n August 4.

However, timing & schedules are proving a challenge..

Has anyone got any information on when the Livingston game will actually be on & what the tv companies are planning to re-schedule it?

I’m assuming it won’t be scheduled for Friday night since we have an away CL qualifier on the Tuesday/Wednesday before.

I’m told that Sky are not showing it at all but have pted for the Aberdeen/Sevco match on the Sunday.

So, I’m working on it likely being a Saturday lunchtime game covered by BT, but until the amended fixtures are released..

If anyone has any information on that match timing etc..I’d be really grateful if you could pass it on.

    Thanks in advance

This is going to be my grandson’s first ever visit to Celtic Park & indeed to see the Celts play, so we just want it to go well.

Plant based diet will see the lbs fall off you if your over weight if done right, and personally myself my breathing has got a whole lot cleaner/easier, I am a runner and I am getting faster. Lots of positives from going plant based no oils , just need vitamin b12 for energy. All the sports stars are following me ?

the local MMA fighters here are vegan. For big tough boys to not eat meat seems strange to me but Ive read them praising the diet and the benefits it brings. Fair play to you. Should you ever have a sweet tooth my vegan mate eats plenty of raspberry ruffles and assures me they are fine for his diet.

More power to you – but a balanced diet of meat, fish, eggs, fruit and veg have kept me for 68 years – but too much meat is consumed throughout the world and it rises as countries get richer – China for an example

Who would win in a fight between a two footed player and an ambidextrous player?

    ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

It would probably be decided over two legs.

Good on you, my wife has been doing this since December and her health has improved dramatically.

I’m almost in the WEEBOBBYCOLLINS camp but still have an occasional lapse, getting there though.

I’m away for a week tomorrow so won’t be posting after tonight until I return.

We’ve booked a cottage near Stirling, last two miles down a dirt track, near a trout fishery.

What am I going to see? Ospreys and Barn Owls to start with and hopefully some other fabulous birds

    Ernie, if your lurking I know I won’t see a Goshawk. :-)

On the subject of veggy/meat eater…1st day in my hotel in Gaza I told the waiter–“No meat. I don’t eat meat. ok?” —“No problem sir. What would you like.” So, I ordered pasta with a mushroom sauce. Food arrived, looked good, took my first bite of mushroom…argh!!! It wasn’t mushroom, it was chicken (some of you know whats coming). I called the waiter over, showed him a chunk of chicken on my fork, “I said no meat.”—“That’s not meat sir, that’s chicken.” We laughed…what else?
