Defence, missed chances and all important Scottish Cup

139

The winning scoreline may have been narrow but the Celtic performance against Kilmarnock was far better than in recent games.  Kyogo, Hatate and Maeda each had their head in their hands after glaring misses, however, conversion rates even themselves out.  All three will improve in the weeks ahead.

It is of slightly greater concern that we conceded for the third successive match against Scottish opposition for the first time this season.  Celtic were defensively imperious for much of the season; that claim can no longer be made.  The Kilmarnock goal was a typically scrappy event, where defenders seemed to switch off.

There is an argument that Saturday’s Scottish Cup game was our most important this month.  Defeat at Ibrox stung, but scarcely moved the dial in the league title odds.  Wednesday’s game against Young Boys has drawn attention for months.  It is likely to determine which round we are eliminated in the Champions League, but the second half of the season is all about the Scottish Cup.

With the League Cup back at Celtic Park and a 13 point lead in the Premiership, the Scottish Cup is the only realistic lifeline available for those looking for a platform to build upon.  Winning another treble would be an incredible achievement, and would be a serious blow to those who aim to stop the Celtic juggernaut.  The more Celtic win, the more important each cup competition becomes.  Great champions are good box office for everyone.

    I am okay Brian, thanks.

Ive just been busy trying to work out on how to Operate my new 65 inch TV, and having my mate ( Who used to play with Celtic back in the 1970’s ), who is a Joiner and has assembled the New TV Wooden Unit on which my New TV sits.

I also have an unequalled amount of Cardboard Packaging etc that came with the TV and the TV Unit. I can only manage ONE Trip downstairs to the BINS each Day…cos I get knackered very quickly.

I am watching BBC and BBC 2 in an ATTEMPT to get the TELETEXT for certain things, but each time I do so and Press TEXT on my Remote Control…I get a small message advising ” NOT AVAILABLE” ?

    Any suggestions ?

This has got me stumped along with some other “issues” that I am trying to work out ?

Apart from the above, I am okay BRIAN BHOY.

    Cheers Mate.

  6. The no parking on pavement ruling comes into force in Glasgow today.

Cue nightmare congestion on the side streets on Wednesday night.

If your being ” Anti environmental ” and taking the car or supporters bus. Leave early.

Or better still use the cycle lanes, there is always loads of room there for bikes heading to Parkhead. Take a friend and hire a tandem.

I believe the parking on pavements enforcement comes in on the 29th., January, “Drivers will be fined £100 for breaching the rules, which come into force on 29 January. Enforcement of Glasgow’s pavement parking ban is set to come into force on 29 January – with drivers facing a £100 fine if they breach the rules.” por cierto

  8. A non driver here, lon̈g overdue fines for those who do not give a fook for pedestrians, namely the wheelchair bound, tthe elderly with walking sticks.

Skelp those poor wee motorists not happy with roads but need the pavement too.so impede the pedestrian.no sympathy fine them

Sorry if i got the date wrong. I was sure it was today .

    AT.

The pavement ban is all about money .More cycle lanes have to be paid somehow.

Its just not practical. Big mad EV’s are wider than ever and our roads cannot cope.

As for the disabled discrimination cycle lanes.

When was the last time you saw elderly disabled people using them or mothers with babies.?
